1. Have your cleaning power supplies on hand – and use them.

• Your job: Thoroughly clean your machine once a month.

• The tech’s job: Get a tech to deep clean your machine once a year.

2. Clean the pantograph. Keep this area clean to reduce the risk of registration problems.• Your job: Clean the debris out every month.

• The tech’s job: Get a tech to inspect the pantograph once a year. The tech should repack all bearings every three to five years.

3. Inspect your knife area.

• Your job: Clean and inspect the area once a week.

• The tech’s job: Get a tech to check, and adjust if necessary, the knife blade level and pressure. The tech can replace blades as needed.

• Your job: Deep clean pre-tension disks every few months.

• Your job: Replace tension felt every few years.

• The tech’s job: Your tech can replace damaged check springs when needed and set tensions on them.

• The tech’s job: Your tech can inspect all check spring tensions.

• The tech’s job: Get your tech to inspect your machine for over-greasing and remove excess grease when needed.
