Mumineen, who travelled from all parts of the world to Surat, not distracted by the lure of materialism or diverted by the glitter of worldly riches, were greeted today, the first day of Ashara Mubarakah, by the radiant countenance of Imam Husain's (AS) Dai, Syedna Mohammed Burhanuddin (TUS). A glimpse of the radiant face revives mumineen just like the withered tree which was revived by the touch of Jabir's hand upon Maulana Ali (AS)'s command. While narrating this riwayat, Aali Qadr Maula (TUS) offered invaluable insights. When Jabir asked the tree why it had dried up and lost all its fruits, the tree did not reply that it was due to lack of water; instead it attributed the cause to the absence of Maulana Ali (AS) for a long period of time.

2ND MOARRAM: “MAN ASBAGA VUZU AHU” yaani vuzu ne kaamil kare.

was the theme of the waaz today. Aali Qadr Maula (TUS) explained in detail the concept of wuzu. Doing complete wuzu doesn't necessarily mean using up a lot of water; in fact, there is no fixed limit to the quantity of water required for completing wuzu. Rasulullah (SAW) accomplished the same with very little water. What is required is the right know-how. Without know-how a task can be ruined. Knowledge should be learnt the right way; otherwise no amount of knowledge will ever suffice. The right way to seek knowledge is to acquire it from the true source.

3RD MOHARRAM: “WA AHSANA SALATAHU” yaani namaz ne behtar parhe.

Aali Qadar Maula explained that namaz alternates between movement and rest. The musalli moves from one position to another and in between, at rest, recites tasbeeh. Namaz is the noblest of all deeds which Allah has bestowed upon Rasulullah's (SAW) ummat. Rasulullah (SAW) put together in namaz all the different actions that the angels and prophets of earlier times performed in worship. Syedna Moayyad al Shirazi (RA) explains that namaz has three positions: standing upright, ruku and sajda. Minerals lie in the earth, plants stand upright while animals are created in the ruku position; thus man who prays namaz is superior to all creation.

4TH MOHARRAM: “WA ADDA ZAKAAT MAALEHI” yaani maal ni zakaat ada kare.

waaz revolved around the third phrase of Rasulullah's (SAW) hadith: "waadda zakata maalehi" (he who offers zakaat of his wealth). The word "zakaat" in Arabic has three meanings. The first meaning is taharat: when one offers from his belongings what belongs to Allah, his wealth is cleansed. The other two are salaah (betterment) andziyada (growth). Taharat, salaahand ziyada are achieved only when zakaat is offered to he who has been given authority by Allah to accept zakaat: Rasulullah (SAW), Aimmat Tahereen and their Duat Mutlaqeen. Today, it is Rasulullah's (SAW)Dai, Syedna Mohammed Burhanuddin (TUS) who has the authority to accept zakaat, cleanse mumineen and shower them with dua. His words, "May Allah grant you immense barakat," suffice a mumin in his life and hereafter.

5TH MOHARRAM: “WA KAFFA GAZABAHU” yaani gussa ne roke.

Waaz was based on the fourth phrase of Rasulullah's (SAW) hadith, "and (he who) controls his anger." Aali Qadar Maula (TUS) explained that this phrase means that a mumin should accept the word of his Maula (TUS) even if it displeases him. If he fails to accept Maula's command, the enemy will overcome him, for the enemy is Allah's anger personified. Therefore the meaning of "control one's anger" is to distance oneself from those who anger Allah and have lost hope in akherat just as the unbelievers have despaired of the "Ashaabul Quboor" (those buried in graves).

6TH MOHARRAM: “WA SAJANA LISAANAHU” yaani zaban ne kaboo ma rakhe.

The power of speech differentiates man from animals.Animals have tongues which they use for eating or emitting sounds, but not articulation. On the other hand, a man is known by his tongue as it reveals what is in his heart. When mumineen behold Maula (TUS) their feelings pour out in the cry, "Ana Wallahe OhibbokaYa Maulaya." This phrase expressed with purity and love assures them of jannat, as it did for the slave of Bani Riyaah. A mumin should exercise care and restraint while speaking because the tongue, as Amir ul Mumineen (AS) says, is like a wild animal which will attack if let loose. He also says, "Words are your prisoners as long as you don't utter them; the moment you do you become imprisoned by them. Be careful while speaking for many a word deprives one of nemat and brings about disaster." Speech identifies the person; therefore a mumin's speech should reflect that he is a true follower of Syedna Mohammed Burhanuddin (TUS), and his tongue indicate that he follows his Maula in deed and good character. Indeed, Maula is the mizaan (scale) by which he should Indeed, Maula is the mizaan (scale) by which he should measure his words and actions. Aali Qadr Maula (TUS) narrated how Abu Musa Ashari's ill-fated words during the battle of Siffeen split the ummat into two. His words brought about disaster that the ummat reels under till today. Abu Musa did not speak in Maulana Ali's (AS) tongue; instead he spoke in Muawyah's tongue what Amr bin Aas had deceptively led him to. They both ended up cursing each other calling each other dog and donkey. Can people like dogs and donkeys ever do any good for the ummat?

7TH MOHARRAM: “WA BAZALA MAARUFAHU” maroof bhalaai ne kharche.

The Fatemi Dai, Syedna Mohammed Burhanuddin (TUS) is maruf (kindness) personified. Kindness is in whatever he says or does; indeed, kindness is whatever he says or does. For a mumin, only the act of kindness that is done in accordance to his wishes, qualifies as kindness. For example, obedience of parents is no doubt an act of maruf, but not if it leads to disobedience of Maula.

8TH MOHARRAM: All over world Audio/Video relay of 8mi tarikh 1426h Moulana Ali (AS) shadat bayaan byAqa Moula (TUS).

9TH MOHARRAM: “WASTAGFARA RABBAHU yaani potana rab na nazdeek istigfaar kare.

The eighth phrase in Rasulullah's hadith is "(he) who offers nasihat on behalf of my Ahle Bait." The word nasihat means advice. It is imperative on every mumin to offer nasihat on behalf of Allah and his wali to mumineen. How does one do so? By exemplary conduct such that it creates respect for Maula in the hearts of others and brings them closer to him. Today the Dawoodi Bohra community is revered the world over for its congeniality and is better known as the following of Azamat us Sultan.Mohabbat which is deen itself, facilitates the acceptance of nasihat. Aali Qadr Maula (TUS) gave the example of Syedi Luqmanji Saheb, who, having sought permission for Haj, had his luggage loaded onto the ship when Syedna Moiyyad's missive arrived instructing him to stay back in Surat and organize the affairs of Dawat. Syedi Luqmanji Saheb immediately halted his pilgrimage and carried out the instructions of Syedna (RA). Four years later, Syedna Moaiyyad (RA) visited Surat, and while addressing Mumineen, recounted the virtues of Syedi Luqmanji in which he said, "There is noone like Shaikh Luqmanji. When my order reached him he was about to set sail for Haj; he could have had continued with his journey and offered an excuse later. Moreover, in these last four years never once did he mention his pending Haj." The mohabbat in Syedi Luqmanji's heart was such that it was not difficult for him to accept Maula's commands.

Aameen!!!

The year 1434 Moharram 2012 enlightened the Chennai people with immense barakat of Imam Hussain (AS). Shk Yusuf bhai Barwaniwala with raza and dua mubarak of Aqa Moula (TUS) improved and increased our knowledge with the history of dawaat and on Imam Hussain's detailed Maqtal.

On 2nd Moharram Janab parted knowledge on “what is shahadat?”. Next moved to the surat “Val Fajar” – and how it is on Aqa Hussains dalalat later moved to Prophet Mohammed (SAW) and his explanation of Imam Hussains akhari Sajada. He then justified us why the use of Zulfikar was restricted towards the end in Karbala. Moreover how Zulfikar traveled from all the people and now it is with Imam

3rd Moharram, was all about Malakul Raad (Vadal na Firishta) about which most of us had no knowledge about. Then he moved to the importance of sand “mitti”. Janaab gave example of a Potter on how after making his earthenware/pot there is some more clay left in the same manner we the mumineen are made from that excess roohani mitti of which the royal family of Panjatan is made of. Ended the sermon with an interesting note on planets and their influence on our lives

4th Moharram the vaaz on this day indeed caught everyones attention. It was all about water “pani” and how the earth and entire existence depends on water. One of the best part was every adult and child learned the order and the significance of “Vazu” that leads ones entry to Jannat. The value of Zum Zum, its discovery and its benefits in our living concluded the sermon.

5th Moharram was entirely on Imam Ali Zainulabedeens AS journey from Karbala to Shaam. Janab managed to portray us the troubles that Qafela went through under Ubaidullah bin Ziyaad and Shimar. In addition, he shared statistics on how many books were brought to all the Nabis and how Quran is the final book that comprises all the knowhow from all the other 104 books

6th Moharram gave us an insight on fruits of jannat. How Rasulullah would always get smell of tuffa near Fatema A.S and Hussain SAW. Then he helped us understand the origin of dua “Bismillah ya noor”. He later gave information about how many date fields were given to Fatema AS by her father Prophet Mohammed. Importance of dates was revealed through the rivayat of Imam Hasan AS where he let go one of his slave. Also nowadays why pregnant women are given dried date during the early labour in their pregnancy.

7th Moharram summarized the life of Zainab AS and Abbas Alamdar AS & Zainab AS hardships and how she moved to Shaam and Moula Alis fazilat on his son Abbas Alamdar AS was clearly explained. Also spoke in great honor of Ma Fatema and she being the center of Panjetan. The noor that was seen on her face in morning was yellow, at noon was white and at evening was red signifying the end of Imam Hussain AS.

8th Moharram, this day we got immense barakat from our beloved Aqa Moula Syedna Mohammed Burhanuddins recorded relay sermon. Our Aqa Moula ye Moula Ali ni shaan, shifat, fadal ane maarefat ghani khubi si karavi. Moula said “Ali ILM na dariya che. Aqa Moula TUS then explained “Vad-doha” surat in Taavil and Haqeeqat Bayan.

9th Moharram Ali Qadar Mufaddal moula ye shaan si mohabbat na bara ma bayaan kidhu. He said “Mohabbat ma zara bhi khalal thai to nasihat ma farak padhi jai, Ikhlaas saaf na hoi tho Imaan no khazano lutaijai” mohabbat is like magnet that binds us together as a community. He illustrated us with how Rasullalah SAW deen suchai mumin waste apne nasihat karwu and Imam Hussains AS ahlebet shahadat si nasihat ne aam keedi.

10th moharram – Last but not the least, the importance of Jumoa (Friday) and Imam Hussains AS shahadat on Friday. He elucidated how all the Nabi and Imams went through difficulties on the day of Ashura before it actually came. The biography of Imam Hussain and from Adam Nabi to Syedna Taher Saifuddin RA in flash.

Then on Maktal, Janab gave details about every incident that took place in Karbala along with the ten difficult stages from Mecca to Karbala. He wrapped up the sermon with Imam Hussains AS shahadat and maatam.

May Allah Grant Long & Healthy Life to Aqa Moula TUS and Mufaddal Moula TUS to perform Imam Hussain AS sahadat bayaan

IS SCHOOL UNIFORM NECESSARY TODAY ?

As my school “MSB” recently introduced the new school uniforms, Iwas rather perturbed by the question, 'Is school uniform necessarytoday'? I was left pondering over the feeling that uniforms are inhibitingthe freedom of expression and need for personal attention. But as Idealt on the question in detail, I realized the importance and value ofuniforms in schools.

The school uniform is the single-most visible element of any school, somuch so, the uniform has become an accurate reflection of a school's discipline, standards and reputation. More importantly it is an impression that everyone in the vicinity of a school forms, especially most of who do not have the opportunity in assessing a school's curriculum. Parents, teachers, and students still debate over the value of school uniforms. Of course, pros and cons are always there for any issue. The debate over school uniform can take on an importance far beyond the issue itself.

Mr. Bill Clinton, the former president of America, who is appalled by falling standards of discipline in US schools, is an ardent advocate for school uniforms to instill the spirit of discipline in students. Most of the educators and parents too are of the opinion that school uniforms are the essential identity of a school student. Supporters of school uniforms are convinced that requiring children to wear uniforms produces benefits for schools and families. Certainly there are several merits and points of great importance that goes in favour of school uniforms.

Uniform is the perfect leveler as it makes everyone equal in the school. The child will be recognized for 'who you are and not for what you are wearing.' The ugly incidents of bullying and social inequalities are effectively controlled when students are wearing the same uniforms.Student uniforms may improve socialization among students because concerns about status-symbol clothing are kept at bay.

School uniforms remove the dilemma of 'what to wear' and thus save lots of precious time of parents and children as well. Uniform gives the school a profile in the community and children are easily identifiable on school trips and also recognize those who do not belong on campus. Above all, students have a much better attitude to study when they are wearing a uniform.

The biggest importance of uniforms may be that the school authorities need not have to take the trouble of moral policing to check the decency of the dress code. Self respect and modesty is given its due importance as students are in uniforms and eliminates unnecessary distractions over attire and appearance.

As for my personal preference, it is more gratifying to be in proper school uniform than in fashionable dresses in the school. The founder of MSB, AqaMoula Syedna Mohammad Burhanuddin (TUS) is a true visionary and he has given our school the best school uniform which secures our students the guarantee of safety, modesty, and identity of the community. Our children feel proud to wear our school uniforms with full confidence anywhere in this world. AqaMoula (TUS) has uniformed all momeneen under one dress code for their social life to protect them from the vices of the world no matter wherever they stay.

FAIZ AL MAWAID AL BURHANIYAH-a movement for a life time

Mumineen,we are extremely proud and privileged to be born in this burhani daur ,wherein our beloved Aqa Moula Syedna Mohammed Burhanuddin TUS and his mansoos, Syedi WaMaulaya Ali Qadr Mufaddal bhai saheb Saifuddin TUS have bestowed dua mubarak, mithi nazarand nemat after nemat on us and transformed our lives with ale mohammed’s Ilm and maqam ‘smarefat with zikre Hussain a.s. Which forms the basis of all ilm.

The meaning of faiz al mawaid al burhaniyah is that “har ghar, har rowz, ale mohammed na thal ni bara-kat nu jaman pohnche” “dua ane shifa nu sabab bane” muntasebeen all over the world in all biladimaniya have initiated an effort to help mumineen obtain the khushi of our shafiq bawa saheb tus ,the52nd dai mutlaq , whose 100th meelad mubarak marked the beginning of the faiz al mawaid al burhaniyah with the initiative of mansoos al azhar ali kadar moula tus who had a vision that “ ek ek mumin na ghare ye faiz phonche, ane koi mumin bhuka pet na sui jaye” bewe moula tus had the sole vision and initiative that their beloved son mumin, due to any strife or difficulties in life should not be without a healthy and a nutritious diet which forms the basis for a healthy mind and a healthy living.

In chennai, faiz al mawaid al burhaniyah became functional in hijri 1432 on the auspicious day of eid ul fitr with 100 thaalis distributed on the first day and since than more than 1700 thaalis are distributed mohalla wise to nearly 1300 families of mumineen, who are receiving barakat from ale mohammed na dai’s faiz for the last one year. This remarkable khidmat by muntasebeen was possible only by the raza and dua mubarak of our aqa moula tus and his mansoos ali kadr moula tus. Faiz al mawaid al burhaniyah relates to the concept of community kitchen, which is a common place where the food for the entire community is cooked and distributed to different zones or areas. It has changed the lives of hundreds and thousands of mumineen across the globe and the feeling of Brotherhood, generosity, love and affection among mumineen is clearly highlighted by this revolutionary nemat of faiz al mawaid. Mumenaat beheno have benefited greatly from this concept. Now they are not worried about spending 2 to 3 hours in the kitchen, making various dishes for the family, instead they get to spend quality time with their children helping them in their studies, taking care of elders in the house, being creative with their handicrafts like topi making or embroidering a rida, some even helping their husbands in their business. All thanks to faiz al mawaid al burhaniyah, an initiative which has touched and changed the way we lived our lives.

May allah subhanahu grant such a moula, Syedna Mohammed Burhanuddin Tus ,who is our mother and father, who is our saviour and guide in this world consumed by strife, at whose hand we receive every nemat so lovingly – a long ,healthy and prosperous life till the day of judgement. May his mansoos Ali Qadr Syedi wa Maulaya Mufaddal bhai saheb Saifuddin saheb Tus, who is a consummate example of how to perform marefat, khidmat and tafadee of the illustrious 52nd fatemi dai tus, be blessed with a long and healthy life in Huzurala’s heavenly shadow.

VALUES AND VISIONS, DOING THE RIGHT THING FOR RIGHT REASON.HOW WOULD YOU LIKE TO BE REMEMBERED?

About a hundred years ago, a man looked at the morning newspaper and to his surprise and horror, read his name in the obituary column. The newspapers had reported his death by mistake. His first response was shock. Am I here or there? When he regained his composure, his next thought was to find out what people had said about him. The Obituary read, “Dynamite king Dies,” and, “He was the merchant of death.” This man was the inventor of dynamite and when he read the words “merchant of death,” he asked himself, “Is this how I am going to be remembered?” He decided that this was not the way the wanted to be remembered. From that day on, he started working towards peace. He,the Dynamite king, was Alfred Noble and he is remembered today by the great Noble Prizes. Just as Alfred Noble redefined his values, you should step back and do the same. What is your legacy? How would you like to be remembered? Will you be spoken well of? Will you be remembered with love and respect? Will you be missed?
