Mr. Sprung advised that the Chairman's reportwhich highlights AKC's successes and positivemessaging would be distributed to theDelegates via e-mail immediately following themeeting. He noted it would also be availableon the Delegate Portal on AKC.org.

Mr. Sprung delivered the President's report inwhich he called upon Brandi Hunter, our VicePresident of Public Relations andCommunications, and Melissa Olund, Directorof Digital Marketing, to share firsthandinformation with you on the Chairman'smessage.

Ms. Hunter: Thank you and good morning. Can everybody hear me? I am Brandi Hunter,Vice President of Public Relations andCommunications for the American KennelClub, and it is a pleasure to be in front of youguys yet again. Today I wanted to just sharewith you some of the ways we have increasedour messaging, our audience and our value inthe media space. So just a little bit about whatwe do. The Communications Department, weexecute media pitching, we get our story tothe proper media outlets, a various amount ofoutlets, so it would be print, television, radio, online, digital, and we really carry our story tothe media and the public and we also doreputation and strategic management, i.e.crisis management. We keep some of thosestories way down low. Some of our keymessaging is the work of the AKC and how it

benefits all dogs, value of the purebred dogand registration, the importance of breedersin choice of pet acquisition, promoting thesport and its value to dog owners, the benefitof our expertise to dog owners andresponsible dog ownership, are our flagshipmessaging. These are some high-level stats for2018. We did 22,937 clips. That is a lot ofvolume for the AKC. We are up about 4.5percent year over year. We are about 4.5percent higher than 2017. Our media value isappraised at $20 billion. That is from ourindependent media monitoring service,Cision, which is an international corporation. They do a lot of Fortune 500 companies andwe are one of their clients as well. Ouraudience has grown in the last 10 years froman average of 1.3 billion to an average of 17billion. There are not 17 billion people on theplanet, but the average news consumer goesbetween three to five outlets per day, if you area high news consumer like me, I'm at 12 to 20a day, to seek out their news. They are seeingus in various spaces, not just traditional newsspaces, but lifestyle spaces. If you go onPeople.com or you like Rachael Ray or OMagazine, we are also in those spaces, whichare important to dog owners. And oursentiment for 2018 was about 46.5 percentpositive, 51 percent neutral, and 2.5 percentnegative. The neutral is not a bad number. Itcould very well be counted to positive but fortransparency we will call it neutral. That iswhen we are being cited. They want our

expertise. They want a quote from our chiefveterinary officer. They are citing the breed ifthey are talking about particular breeds andstories. So, they are still using our informationin the stories. This, please don't try and readit, it is not going to be beneficial to try andread it, but this is what I look at and our teamlooks at on a regular basis. This is what for Q1of 2019 our sentiment looked like. We are alittle higher in our positivity and ourneutrality. Our negativity is very low. That redline you see across the bottom means that weare not being targeted, we are not beingwritten about in a negative space, we are notbeing accused of anything, so we are notseeing a high volume of media talkingnegatively about the AKC at all. This isanother view of sentiment. As you can see, thebulk of our stories are specifically about theAKC and then we have our most popularannouncement which gives us a lot of traffic. The Museum of the Dog which has done reallywell this year and we are happy to have thatback, Canine Health Foundation, governmentrelations, compliance, and other topics makeup the remainder, but for the most partpeople are writing about the AKC. That'swhere most of our clips are coming fromspecifically. Here are some high-level numbersfor some events. As you know, we hold threemajor ones, well, two major ones really andthat's a major announcement for us. So, ournumbers are really high. Over 3 billionimpressions for national championship, our

media value is high, our clip volumes are high.By contrast, if you look at the averagenonprofit or not for profit, they arementioned about 31 times per day nationallyin a high news cycle. We average about 63 atthis point. So, we are doing well above thecurve. We are doing it in a positive mannerand we are getting our information out thereand our expertise out there to the properaudiences. Here are some of the places we arebeing seen. This is just in about the past 90days as a matter of fact. New York Times, CNNare really high level, but we also do a lot oflocal and regional press as well, specificallyaround shows, legislation, we help GR out a lotto ensure that our message is reaching downand we are going down the funnel. So, if youare not consuming these at a high level butyou are consuming it at a regional or locallevel, we are still making an impact. Here aresome of the ways in which we are beingcovered. Again, don't try and read this. But wehonored George W. Bush's dog Sully for thePaw of Courage. We got a lot of high-levelnational press on that. It also put us in somedifferent conversations about how wecelebrate working dogs which was really great.Pet disaster relief trailers are always excellentstories of how we are out there for dog ownersin times of turmoil. The Museum of the Doggot a lot of coverage, and the Southern Livingclip you see in the bottom here, that is a lot ofhow we get covered, how often should youfeed your dog, how often should you wash

your dog's bowl, best leashes for your dog, bestpractices, how do I train my dog. We get a lotof requests like that that come through ourexperts, so we are able to add ourselves to avery useful conversation for dog owners whoare not necessarily in the sport. So far in Q1we have had our national championshipwinner on Good Morning America for thesecond year in a row. They have alreadyinvited us back for a third. We are reallyexcited about that. We have executed a majorpress campaign for the Museum of the Dog,over 1,500 articles on the museum in 14different languages around the world and weare still counting. We are still seeing anaverage of 15 to 20 clips on the museum a day.So, we are really excited and we are about tostart full court press for the next exhibit. Weare up almost 3,000 clips from this time lastyear. So last year we were at 9,223. This year weare at over 12,000. We are trending ahead forthe year. We announced new breeds and hadthe largest number of clips surrounding AKCMeet the Breeds in 2019. We were up about 7percent there. We began to syndicate ourcontent with our Chief Veterinary Officer, including him in our McClatchey, which is anarticle we create every week and serve to 600media outlets. He is being viewed as an expertthere and solidified him as a trusted resourcein all things dog. He has actually told me hehas 20 or so requests a week and he is trying toget through them as fast as he can, so he isdoing a lot of good work for the AKC. Built

new relationships and working with nationaloutlets. There were some roadblocks we hadbefore. We don't have them now. We have seena lot of volume with places that two years agoeven we weren't able to get a response from.We are very encouraged there. AARP was oneof them, The Today Show was one of them. So,we are breaking some good ground. Otheraccomplishments. We distributed over 110press releases and media alerts for the year2018. This year we will be a little bit higher. Wewill be at about 140. 52 weekly articles to over600 newspapers. We create a weekly newsletterthat goes to 86,000 people and helpeddeveloped content for The Nibble which goesto over 1,000,000 users per month. And wealso manage media relations for the AKCHumane Fund, Museum of the Dog, andReunite, as well as building content with ourchief veterinary officer that goes on our socialproperties, AKC.org. And we are increasinghis presence at veterinary conferences, so weare adding our voices to those conversations aswell. And that is all I have for you guys today. Now I will turn it over to Melissa Olund, ourDirector of Digital Marketing, for herpresentation.

Ms. Olund: Hello. This is my first timespeaking to a room this large of dog people,so a little positive reinforcement at the endwould be lovely. I'm speaking to you todayabout AKC Marketing and what we do. Wehave three key goals in the AKC Marketing

Department. I'm just going to go ahead andread them to you. Number one, we want toincrease ownership and registration ofpurebred dogs. We want to increase awarenessand participation in AKC sports and events. And we want to improve dog lovers'perception of the AKC, generally, both part ofthe fancy and the average person who has apet dog at home. There are three key thingsthat we do in order to sort of advance thosegoals, one of which, probably one of the mostimportant, is breed education. So, sharing ourbreed expertise as the AKC is key to drivingthat ownership and registration of purebreddogs. We want to engage people withmessaging that connects them, spurs them toaction, when it comes to the world ofpurebred dogs. We want to reach them whilethey are searching for the right breed for theirlifestyle and educate them and connect themto responsible breeders and inspire them todo more with the dogs that they end upacquiring. AKC.org is one of the key ways thatwe do this and that is our website foreverybody who has been there. We average 8million users per month and that's a lovelynumber that is increasing. Our organic searchtraffic on AKC.org is up nearly 40 percent yearover year. So that speaks to how we are reallydoing a great job of reaching people whilethey are in that behavior of looking forinformation about dogs and about breeds andabout what to do with their dogs. And just afew examples of how we have kind of brought

this great education to life, our puppy pack,we have two photos here, Gideon on top andthen Nymeria on the bottom, they follow thelives of these puppies in their first year andshow all the different things that go intoraising a puppy of the different particularpurebreds. I have a short clip here, there is noaudio, but it is an example of how we aredoing more on Instagram to really drive thebreed of the day program that we run. That isa little trivia about Pembroke Welsh Corgis. Sopeople, you know, who follow us on Instagram, they may not know that much about Corgis orthey might feel they are an expert on Corgis, but either way, when they get done with ourtrivia they will have engaged with and learninformation about Pembrokes and learnsomething new. Sports and events really allowus to bring some exciting and inspiring storiesto our constituency, both the fancy and theaverage pet dog owner. It is a rich source ofdigital content for us, whether we are at anevent, whether we are, you know, seeing thingsthat people are posting on social media abouttheir participation in an event. It really is oneof those things that you can't really replicate. You've got to see it to believe it sometimes withdog sports and events. So, a lot of the videothat we do on social media and on site is basedon sports events, and we can see that, youknow, with 28 million just year to date videoviews on Facebook alone, it is a really rich wayfor us to reach people and get them excitedabout doing more with their dogs. Some

examples of how we bring this to life, ourvideos, as Doug mentioned, there is explainervideos that kind of serve to demystify some ofour different sports so that people can seesomething, say my dog can do that, you know, and learn how to get involved. I'm one ofthem. I just did my first Fast CAT over theweekend, so hooray. We also do some livecoverage of our National Championships. Wewent to the Rally and Agility and Obediencechampionships and did live coverage with allthe people who were participating, sharing theresults and interviewing the winners as theycame out of the ring. They were all veryexcited to be featured and shown to our socialmedia audiences. So, I'm going to show youright here a quick, video of one of our juniorhandler spotlights. This is a program that weare also doing every month. We are featuringa different junior handler. This young lady, when we met her, she was 11 years old, she is12 now I believe. Her name is Brielle. We mether at the Progressive Dog Club Toy SpecialtyShow. And I think you will enjoy this video.

Ms. Olund: I'm glad you enjoyed that. Brandperception is another key way that we in theMarketing Department are aiming to increasethe profile of AKC. As we continue to expandour reach to dog lovers everywhere we aresuccessfully communicating the value and theimportant work of AKC on a greater scale than

ever before. I think one key thing that is really, really important for everybody to understandis that our social media reach is growing. It isbigger than it has ever been. We just broke the4 million mark on total followers, and that's ahuge number. But the key thing to knowabout that is that some social media platformsare actually plateauing. So, they are notgrowing at the same rate that we are. We aregrowing faster than their user base is growing. So that's a very positive signal as to howengaged people are when we are speaking tothem on social media. Email also targets ourcore constituency. I know Doug mentionedthis as well. Our email reach grew 10 percentin 2018 with 138 million emails sent acrossover 1,000 campaigns. Other areas where weare growing the brand perception is byincreasing our social media communitymanagement. That means we are out thereanswering people's questions on social media,we are talking to people, we are giving themtips and tricks and making sure that they knowhow to find the things that they are lookingfor. So, we are not just letting people talkabout us, we are actually talking with people, and we see a lot of great feedback when we dothat. We are also expanding Facebook groups. That’s a key part of how Facebook is movingforward and so we want to be on that cuttingedge with them. That's all I've got. Actually, one more slide, my fault. Positivereinforcement. We know the Marketing andCommunications Department impacts the

AKC in many ways beyond our key goals. Wehave increased our brand awareness, we haveenhanced our corporate reputation, and wehave measurable public understanding of howAKC serves dog lovers everywhere. Just as aside example, our social media sentiment, thepositive sentiment is 88 percent on averageand that's an incredibly strong number. Thatmeans when people are talking about us, theyare talking about us in a positive way, sharingthings that they have done over the weekend,a new title that they won. So, it really has agreat impact on that, you know, socialsentiment that we see out there. And that's allI've got. Thank you so much.

Chief Financial Officer, Joseph Baffuto, gavethe Financial Report as follows:Good morning to you, the AKC Delegate body.It is with great privilege and pleasure that Ipresent to you our unaudited financial resultsthrough April 30, 2019. It has been anefficient and productive first four months ofour fiscal year and I am confident that we willbe able to continue our successes movingforward through the remaining balance of2019. Let's begin with a summary of ourrevenue and expenses. Our income statementreflects just under $25.7 million in totalrevenue and $23.8 million in total expenses, for an impressive operating income of $1.78million. During the first four months of the2018 year we recorded $25.1 million inrevenue, with $24.3 million in expenses, for

$819,000 of operating income. From oursummary, now let's reflect on our coreregistration volumes. We continue withpositive upward trends for both litters anddogs at a 3 percent and 2 percent markrespectively. Thanks go to our remarkable staffsupporting the registry and the mission of theAKC. Focusing next on the revenue side ofour operational equation, we are representinga $555,000 increase in total revenue as of thefour months ended April 30, 2019.Subsequently, we can drill down into this 2.2percent increase. With a concentrated andtargeted focus from our Board of Directorsand executive management, our registrationprograms are succeeding. Most particularly, dogs, litters and pedigrees have each hadpositive variances of approximately $200,000this year to date over prior year results. Also, our core concentration of sports and eventshave been highly successful to date this year, outperforming last year's revenue results byapproximately $347,000. Registrations andsports and events are what we do and in 2019we are continuing to do it right. Transitioningto the expenses side of the equation, we havecontrolled our costs this year by $414,000, incomparison to the period ended April 30,2018. There are a handful of contributingfactors to this 1.7 percent favorable decrease,so let's further evaluate. First off, payroll andbenefits. Our current full-time equivalenthead count of 354 has increased by 4 percentsince last year. However, we have been able to

decrease our total payroll and associatedbenefits by $151,000 in 2019 measured against2018 levels. Next, our consulting costs havedecreased by $515,000 in a year over yearcomparison. Several functions and programsthroughout the organization have contributedto the year to date decrease, including ourNew York office relocation activities from2018, along with the timing of some of ourmarketing and technology efforts this year.Next, our equipment and maintenance andrental costs. Equipment, maintenance andrental have dropped by $129,000 or more than30 percent in comparison to the same periodlast year. This can be attributed mainly to ourpurchasing efforts and technology operationsteam working hard to negotiate favorablemaintenance contracts for services andequipment. Lastly, our postage costs havedecreased by about $75,000 or almost 8percent below last year's level at the sametime. We regularly conduct internal reviews ofour division level spending and we expect toclosely monitor our costs through theremainder of 2019. Observing our financialresults independent of our operating activities,we can note our investment performance yearto date which presented significant unrealizedgains. The portfolio had a 10.7 percent rate ofreturn in the first four months of 2019 whichvalued at approximately $10.8 million andoutperformed our benchmark for the periodby a full 100 basis points. Our balance sheetindicates the long-term fiscal power of our

organization. As of April 30, 2019, we areexhibiting total assets of $180 million, with$109.7 million in total liabilities. As we can seehere, these are both significant multimilliondollar increases over the prior year. Thedifference between our total assets and totalliabilities are our unrestricted net assets. Let'stake a deeper dive into the composition of theunrestricted net assets. Our operating reserveof just under $42 million representsapproximately 50 percent of our operatingbudget, while solidifying the functioningcontinuity of our business if there were asignificant disaster impacting our capabilitiesto operate the organization for an extendedperiod of time. Our investment in property, plant and equipment of $25.4 millionrepresents the value of our technologyequipment, furniture, fixtures and leaseholdimprovements. You will note this has increasedsignificantly by more than $15 million since2018 due to the completion of our newheadquarters at 101 Park Avenue in New York, along with completed renovations to ouroperations facility in Raleigh, North Carolina. The underfunded status of $60.5 million forour pension and post-retirement plansrepresents the combined shortfall from ourlong-term liabilities to these benefit plans.Lastly, the $63.4 million of our AKC Boarddesignated funds allows us to make long-termdecisions which will continue to help ussucceed in supporting our core mission. Thecomplete deck which I have presented to you
