Your PPN Representatives
The role of the Fingal PPN Representative has evolved over the past 6 months with the development of the Representatives Charter. The Charter has refined the work of the representative through outlining their role and responsibility specific to Fingal PPN. Representatives are writing notes following their decision making meetings and posting them on www.fingalppn.ie. In addition, our Representatives have now been set up with PPN Representative email addresses so that they receive issues from and respond to members of the Fingal PPN directly.
*This figure includes €19,480.88 estimated expenditure to Dec 31st.This year’s expenditure included set up costs of website development/set up staff costs/supernumerary expenses.

FINGAL PPN AUTUMN TRAINING PROGRAMME

On the 5th October, 21 people attended the Organising Your Community Event in Balbriggan Town Hall. This session was run in partnership with Claire McNamee, IT Blanchardstown Civic Engagement Office.
The second training seminar Understanding Local Government & Influencing Policy was held in the Institute of Technology Blanchardstown on Saturday 22nd October with over 26 community and voluntary groups across Fingal County attending. Brian Buckley, Fingal County Council Corporate Services opened with a session on the structure and role of Fingal County Council. LINKAGE GROUPS
There were 12 Linkage Group meetings organised since June. One of the key challenges for the PPN is the poor attendance at these meetings. The Secretariat is working to develop ways of communicating with Linkage Group/PPN members and all reports/minutes are uploaded onto the website as meetings occur. Linkage Groups are also developing their own work plans – identifying issues that are a priority to community groups/organisations. However despite poor attendance Linkage Group meetings have been lively – with plenty of discussion and ideas sharing.
OUR COMMUNITY PARTNERS
Fingal PPN has developed relations with community organisations and services. Collaborations have included promoting the PPN, delivery of training & Information sessions, contribution information features in the Fingal PPN Newsletters and website, presentations and supporting the development of Fingal PPN. Our partners include Institute of Technology Blanchardstown, Social Justice Ireland, Phoenix FM, SICAP, LEADER, LCDC, Fingal Volunteer Centre, Gárdai, Safer Blanchardstown, Blanchardstown Local Drugs Task Force, Foroige, Carmichael Centre, Dublin Institute of Technology and Fingal County Council.
