stand firM in the Lord It is not hard to imagine, in this age of wars, evil groups bent on the destruction of humanity, and political follies, that the words of Saint Paul were so accurate, even for his time. It seems that the world never changes. Paul says, “Many . . . conduct themselves as enemies of the cross of Christ. Their end is their destruction . . . Their minds are occupied with earthly things” (Philippians 3:18, 19). The result is the destruction of innocent people and of the Earth itself. But Paul says to the Philippians, “ourcitizenshipisinheaven,andfromitwealsoawaitasavior,theLordJesusChrist”(3:20).Hewill“change our lowly body to conform with his glorified body” (3:21). Note that he says “body” rather than “bodies.” He is talking about the whole community of believers, who, following the example of JesusandofPaul,willcomeintothegloryofGod.So“standfirmintheLord”(4:1).Copyright©J.S.PaluchCo.,Inc.

“How marvelous it would be if, at the end of the day, each of us could say: today I have performed an act of charity towards others” -Pope Francis
Our parish plays a vital role in the work of the Annual Catholic Appeal. We have an opportunity to act together as a Catholic family and impact the lives of others through- out the Diocese with selfless acts of love and generosity.
Your gifts and pledges impact our community by helping provide meals to the needy, mases and communion services for residents in nursing homes, hospices, and other facilities, by supporting the diocesan programs and services that share the teachings of the Church.
Please make your sacrificial commitment to the 2019 Annual Catholic Appeal. Bishop Weisenburger is counting on the support of every parish family to meet our parish goal.
“She opens her hand to the poor and reaches out her hands to the needy.”
