Intent and Overview

This course is designed to cover the most recent advances in cancertherapy that are primarily of a regional focus, such as gastrointestinal,intraperitoneal, hepatic, ovarian and thoracic. Upon completion of theactivity, learners from several disciplines should be able to discuss thelatest regional therapies in surgical oncology and describe how theseadvances can be applied to their practice.

Who Should Attend

This course is designed for physicians and nurses practicing inthe areas of Medical, Surgical, Thoracic and Gynecologic Oncologyand Gastroenterology.

Continuing Education Credit

The University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine is accredited by theAccreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education to providecontinuing medical education for physicians.

The University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine designates thiseducational activity for a maximum of 19.5 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™.Each physician should claim only those credits that he/she actuallyspent in the educational activity.

Other health care professionals are awarded 1.95 continuing educationunits (CEU’s) which are equal to 19.5 contact hours.
