A LETTER FROM FRANKAt times, we all ask: “Is my life making a difference?” If you have partnered with the Muncie Mission I assure you the answer is yes! This newsletter provides only a snapshot of the impact of your care and concern for our hurting neighbors.

Every hour you volunteer, every dollar you give, and each item donated to the Mission empowers people to move from constant suffering to sustainable flourishing through the gospel of Jesus. Whether it’s a woman who has found a safe and peaceful community at Beauty for Ashes, a man who has moved from the streets to overcoming life’s challenges or a family in crisis that received relief, you are making a difference!

This newsletter tells Fred’s story. I am sharing this to encourage and thank you for your partnership. Fred was first informed of the Mission through an addiction counselor who cared for him. The counselor was himself once a meth addict before his life transformation at the Muncie Mission. He went on to earn his undergraduate and graduate degrees, became a licensed professional and eventually crossed paths with Fred. What an amazing ripple effect your giving creates! Please know, you are making a difference!

“Just wanted to let you know that I now have full custody of my 10-year-old son. I don’t know if you guys will ever know what my son would have faced if I hadn’t gotten help at the Mission. The DCS said

he was headed to a group home and now he gets A’s and B’s. I thank you all. Your acts of kindness and understanding were new to me. Now I’ll

spend the rest of my life doing the same.”

SECOND CHANCES

WOMEN’S SERVICES Until a couple months ago, you could find Kristi Thornburg at the Mission on Tuesday mornings, volunteering her time to assist guests at the Family Service food pantry. However, when Beauty for Ashes, the Mission’s newest service, needed a case manager Kristi was chosen. Her years of experience as a case manager, passion for the Mission, and committment to her hometown of Alexandria made her the right choice. She continues to be a part of the Mission team, but is deeply committed to Alexandria - just like Muncie Mission.

This unique ministry in Alexandria hasn’t stopped, and it won’t. Emotional support and life skills classes, along with a large emphasis on spiritual development continues to be the basis for our program. Single women and women with children continue to find opportunity to change their lives, with the support of staff and ministry partners.

The Mission is eager to grow and expand the services offered in Alexandria and beyond as the Lord provides the opportunity. For the precious women who live at Beauty for Ashes, the Mission has helped provide further stability to the ministry and their lives. Will you join us as we continue to provide stability, hope and restoration to women and children in need?

A great resource for the Madison county area.-Operation Love Ministries

SHAREWORTHY

Yesterday morning I took a neighbor who’s battling drug & alcohol addiction to the Muncie Mission Ministries. I was very encouraged by what I saw. Restoration

was happening in the neighborhood and community. Houses were being built. People

were working together for the good of the city. Neighborhoods were reclaiming their

community. People from the community fully engaged in restoring their own

community... I see it LORD!-Andrew Morrell

Muncie Mission Ministries provides more than just food resources to Muncie, Indiana. Clothing, toiletries, emergency funds for utility bills

and a long-term recovery program for men are just a few ways they make a difference in the community...
