CONNECTICUT YANKEE ATOMIC POWER COMPANY

An order has been issued releasing the jurisdiction reserved in an order dated April 17, 1981 (HCAR No. 22011), over the terms of and the fees, commissions and expenses to be incurred in connection with a proposed placement of up to $75 million of debentures to be issued and sold by Connecticut Yankee Atomic Power Company, sub-sidiary of New England Electric System and Northeast Utilities, each a registeredholding company. Retention of jurisdiction in this proceeding is no longer necessarysince the matters over which jurisdiction has been reserved are dealt with in an order to issue concurrently in File No. 70-6636. An order has also been issued authorizing Connecticut Yankee to incur up to $50 million of revolving credit bank loans and to issue up to $50 million of its 17 percent sinking fund debentures due 1996 as part of its 1981 financing program.The revolving credit loans and debentures would be guaranteed by the 11 New Englandelectric utilities which own the outstanding shares of Connecticut Yankee's common stock. The Commission has approved a proposed rule change filed under Rule 19b-4 by the Municipal Securities Rulemaking Board (SR-MSRB-8l-l4) to adopt MSRB Rule G-33, which establishes standard formulas for computing dollar price, yield, and accrued interest amounts on municipal securities transactions and which also prescribes standards for the accuracy of such calculations.
