Role Statement

Provides an effective and efficient executive and secretarial support service to the Executive Director Information Systems and Corporate Performance (CIO). Facilitates the efficient management of the Office of the Chief Information Officer. Assists with projects including undertaking research and quality assuring reports, and assists the Executive Director in a range of areas associated with the management and day to day operations of the Office of the Chief Information Officer.

Duties and Responsibilities

1. Administrative Support 1.1.Provides administrative and secretarial support to the Executive Director as required.1.2.Prepares and quality assures documents including correspondence, minutes of

meetings, reports, agendas and briefing material.1.3.Liaises internally and externally with other government departments and members of the

public on behalf of the Executive Director.1.4.Maintains and creates corporate records using the Department’s Record Management

system

2. Service Delivery2.1.Acts as Executive Officer to committees within the Department as required by the

Executive Director. 2.2.Provides operational support to the Executive Director including assisting with the

provision of information and the conduct of research on special projects.2.3.Collects, collates and maintains data relevant to the Office of the Chief Information

Officer and provides reports as directed.2.4.Prepares responses to correspondence as directed.2.5.Contributes to the development of the agency’s strategic directions in alignment with the

Department’s values and leadership statements.

3. Planning and Organising3.1.Contributes to the development of strategic and business plans for the Department

providing innovative solutions to meet a changing environment. 3.2.Provides operational support to the Executive Manager including assisting with the

provision of information and the conduct of research on special projects 3.3.Contributes to and implements continuous improvement strategies.

4. OTHER

4.1.Performs other duties as directed.

Essential Work-Related Requirements (Selection Criteria)1. Demonstrated experience in the provision of administrative and secretarial support at

senior levels.2. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to enable development of ongoing

positive stakeholder relationships and ensure cooperation. 3. Well-developed planning and organisational skills with the ability to meet specified

timeframes.4. Ability to self-motivate, use initiative to anticipate requirements and resolve problems

arising from competing and changing demands and priorities.5. Well-developed conceptual, analytical and evaluation skills.

6. Well-developed verbal and written communication skills, and experience in producing documents to a high standard.

7. Proven ability to identify and implement innovative practices and procedures that assist the Executive Director achieve business objectives.

Essential Eligibility Requirements / Special Appointment Requirements 1. Appointment is subject to a satisfactory National Police Clearance.2. Possession of a current Western Australian 'C' or 'C-A' Class Driver’s Licence or equivalent.

This requirement continues for the duration of employment in this position and from time to time production of the licence may be required upon request by the Agency.
