SealTEC Metallic Range

Spiral Wound Gaskets

Available in a full range of styles and materials, our spiral wound gaskets are manufactured in accordance with ASME B16.20 for use in all industry flanges, including ASME B16.5 and ASME B16.47, Series A & B.

Spiral Windings Only

Style S consists of winding with no inner or outer ring. Available in the full range of winding metals and filler materials, style S is manufactured to meet most dimensional requirements.

Spiral Winding with Inner Ring

Styles SRI and SI include a solid metal inner ring generally fabricated from the same metal as the winding. The inner ring is designed to minimize turbulence in process material flow and to prevent inward buckling of the spiral wound gasket element.

Spiral Windings with Outer RingsStyle SR can be custom made to meet specified dimensions. Both standard and custom SR’s are manufactured in the full range of winding metals, filler materials and outer ring alloys.

Leader GT assures strict adherence to these specifications as routine inspection procedures are applied throughout the manufacturing process.

In addition, we maintain traceability of all materials used in our gasket construction to provide material certifications as required. Leader GT’s gaskets maintain the ISO9001 Certification as standard.

Camprofile Gaskets

Camprofile gaskets are offered as a high quality, low emission sealing alternative. They are designed for a difficult sealing environment where performance is critical or the sealing stress is low.

Style FThis profile is grooved and has covers from the ID to the OD. Its uses are similar to the spiral wound gasket profile S. It is designed for tongue and groove and male/female flanges.

Style FRThis profile has a section that performs as the guide ring in a SR spiral wound gasket. It is designed for raised and flat faced flanges. The OD normally extends to the surface of the bolts.

Style FLThe FL is designed with a floating guide ring to meet end user specifications in standard flanges. The guide rings can be made from a variety of metals for various service conditions.

Available FacingsGraphite facings are the most common type for Camprofile gaskets. They can be used in almost all applications & temperatures.

PTFE facings are also used, mostly with acids and corrosive mediums

Camprofile gaskets consist of a metal core with concentric grooves and normally have sealing layers of either flexible graphite or PTFE.

Metal cores are usually selected based on the metallurgy of the piping system and can be re-laminated with new sealing layers to give virtually endless uses.

Advantages n Excellent sealing characteristics at a

wide range of seating stresses

n Very forgiving of inconsistent bolt torque or installation error

n Applicable to almost all types of flanges regardless of available bolt loads

n The working thickness of sealing layers is extremely small reducing fugitive emissions

n Low seating stresses reduce flange damage and gasket removal problems

n Offers extreme temperature, pressure and chemical resistance due to variety of materials available

Page 9: Sealtec Metallic Gaskets from ERIKS

Elastagraph Gaskets

ElastaGraph™ gaskets are made by our proprietary Dynagraph process which infuses a seamless layer of flexible graphite at varying densities and thickness’s over a corrugated metallic core.

n Lower porosity and stress corrosion

n Greater unit load at initial torque

n Increased load retention

n No mylar/polyester film adhesive

n Patented

ElastaGraph utilises a unique corrugated pattern which increases the depth of the groove and the pitch at the peak of the corrugation and has a unique low density graphite inner step. This greatly improves the gasket’s seal ability over traditional corrugated designs.

This increased pitch and groove depth increase ElastaGraph’s recovery or “spring back” and reduces the surface area of the gasket for greater unit load at initial torque as well as lower minimum seating stress.

This results in bolt stability and increased load retention during thermal cycling. The Dynagraph process also eliminates the mylar/polyester film adhesive used in traditional gasket designs which contributes to volume and bolt torque loss.

ElastaGraph was developed specifically to solve fugitive emission and compliance problems. It also performs well in bolted joints that experience thermal cycling or limited initial bolt load. ElastaGraph is the most economical way of meeting low emission requirements.

Ring Type Joints

Ring Type Joints are designed to concentrate the bolt load over a small area to produce high seating stress. They are predominately used in gas, oil, petrochemical and offshore industries – that involve high pressures and temperatures.

We have a stock holding of the more commonly used sizes of Ring Type Joints in both Soft Iron and 316 Stainless Steel. All stocks are fully approved to API 6A and B16.20. Full manufacturing and material traceability is available if required in accordance with ISO9001:2000 and ISO14001.

In accordance with API specifications our Soft Iron joints are protected from corrosion with electroplated zinc.

We can also arrange manufacture of ring type joints in other sizes and materials, ranging from various grades of stainless steel, Duplex, Inconels and Hastelloys.

Metallic Shims Metallic Shims are used to fill small gaps or spaces between objects. They provide dimensional adjustment within a mechanical assembly to compensate for:

n Tolerance build up

n Alignment issues

n Compensation due to wear

Shims can also be used to isolate different materials when assembling components and structures together and are usually manufactured in solid or laminated formats.

ERIKS Gasket Technology manufactures shims in all sizes and profiles from both metallic and non-metallic materials (plastic).

Typically we can cut 304 and 316 stainless steel ranging from 0.05mm to 5mm thick in house. We also work with reliable proven partners that allow us to cut thicker material and offer numerous other grades of metallic options.

Choice of Material Type

When selecting appropriate materials to produce shims the following areas need to be considered:

n Cost

n Sensitivity to weight

n Thermal properties

n Chemical Resistance

n Exposure to corrosive media

n Properties of adjoining materials

n Dielectric strength

Studbolts & Fasteners ERIKS Gasket Technology and ERIKS Industrial Services offer an extensive range of studbolts and special sizes can be manufactured to order, all supplied with 3.1b certification.

All material grades used in the petrochemical industry are catered for and are usually available to both ASTM and ASME Standards.

ERIKS Gasket Technology are fast, efficient, reliable and renown for quality
