SEAD Software

Summary of Software The SEAD program is designed to allow you to create your own user name and password which will allow you to download your Playlists / Media files in a few simple clicks. Once the application has downloaded the files onto your computer, copy the files onto a USB drive. The USB drive will then be used to transfer the files onto the ODM Media Player, by simply plugging the USB drive into the Media Player and waiting for the update process to complete. Please follow the steps below to help you with this process.

Software Installation Type http://www.onedigitalmedia.com/sead into your address bar or click on this link while holding ctrl

� Download the version necessary for the Operating System you have installed.

Once the download is complete.

� For Windows: Run the setup file and go through the installation options.

� For Apple Mac: Open the DMG file and copy the SEAD.app to your Applications directory.

Starting the Application Windows Go to Start > All Programs > SEAD and run the program shortcut labeled as “SEAD”.

Apple Mac Go to your Applications folder and run the SEAD.app. You will be prompted to accept that the file was downloaded from the Internet.

Creating your own Username and Password:

Once the Application launches the below page will open:

Click on “register here” where the following page will open:

Then click on start registration.

After clicking start registration. The following screen will appear:

Please full in all your details in the spaces provided. NB- password has to be 6 characters or more

On the top right of the screen please select the correct region, city and venue. The different options will drop down when you click on the downward arrow. Please refer to “attachment A” at the end of this document for the list of stores and what regions they are to help you with this.

Once you have selected the correct venue, click on add. You are able to select more than one venue depending on how many venues fall under your franchise.

Once you have added your venue/s to the venue list, click on register. The following will appear:

Please keep your username and password handy because this will be needed to log in and upload new content!

Uploading New Content to the Screen/s

Signing in:

Once you have registered, you will need to sign yourself in. Enter the user name and password that you created and click sign in. Example

Selecting the Screen

Once you have successfully signed in, you will be on the main landing page. The venue/s will appear in the left box.

The view on the left -hand side shows the list of venues associated with your user details. If you click on the arrow next to the venue name the number of screens will pop down. If you click on the arrow next to the number of screens the screen lay out will be displayed. For example:

When you click on one of the layouts eg “left panel 1/3” the playlist will be listed in the right panel.

For example:

If you are going to update the Playlists and Media on your left Menu Board, i.e. when the customer is facing the screens it will be the screen on their left, you will click the “Left Panel 1/3” option. Once this has been clicked, the Application will connect to the ODM Servers to collect the Playlist / Media information which will appear in the right panel (this may take a few seconds).

Downloading the Data

Once the information has loaded into the right-hand side you will be able to press the download button. This will begin the process of downloading the Playlist and Media information from the ODM Servers.

Insert USB flash drive into your computer’s USB port.

Click on “my computer” and then click on “removable disk or the name of the USB flash drive”

1) The USB flash drive will need to be blank and will therefore need to be formatted (content deleted).

Make sure that the USB flash drive has nothing of i mportance on it because it will be deleted and you will not be able to retrieve the deleted files! If need be save these files onto your computer.

The following will appear:

Click start and then ok. The USB flash drive will begin to format. Note: Make sure that the USB Flash dive has nothing of importance on it because it will be deleted! Once the USB flash drive has completed formatting click on ok and then close the window

You will need to reopen the removable disk in my computer.

Pressing the download button now will begin the download. This may take up to 10 minutes so you may leave the program to complete the process and come back a little later. Once the process is complete then the “Copy to USB” button will be enabled.

From the screen shot on the right hand-side it can be seen that all the Playlist / Media files have been downloaded and the fact that the “Copy to USB” button is enabled means the program is ready to copy the information onto the USB Drive.

Place the USB Drive into one of the computer's USB Ports.

For Windows users, take note of the Drive Letter assigned by Windows.

For Apple Mac users take note of the Volume Name.

Press the “Copy to USB” button. This will appear

Select the drive corresponding to the USB Drive you are using and press the “Select” button. Note: if you only place the USB Drive in at this stage you must press the “Refresh Drive List” button to have the new Drive added to the list, once it is detected by the Operating System.

Once the processes are complete press the OK button and repeat the process using different USB sticks for all the screens in your venue.

Installing the content onto the screens using USB f lash drive

Once the playlists are uploaded onto the individual USB devices then each USB device needs to be inserted into the corresponding USB port behind the screen while the screen and player is powerd.

Example: USB labeled left- insert into left screen, USB labeled middle- insert into middle screen, USB labeled right- insert into right screen

OR

Once the USB is inserted into the slot, the content on the USB device will automatically be uploaded onto the screen and flight within a couple of minutes.

Do not remove the USB stick until the process has c ompleted!!!!!
