Shepherd & Derom Galleries presents our first exhibition of sculp-ture in association with Philip Mezzatesta Fine Art. For the last twelve years he directed majorgalleries here in New York City as a specialist in Renaissance andBaroque sculpture. We welcome him as an independent dealer.
Philip Mezzatesta’s expertise in Renaissance and Baroque sculpturecomplements our own expertise in late 18th-century to early 20th-century European sculpture. Highlights include Eve, a polychromelimewood standing sculpture created by an artist working in the cir-cle of Gregor Erhart (c.1465-1540) for an altarpiece in theKreuzkirche in Ansbach, and Apollo, a bronze statue by FrançoisDuquesnoy (1597-1643).
