Our Practice of Close Communion We believe from Acts 2:42 and 1 Corinthians 10:16-17 that Holy Communion is the

highest expression of our fellowship with Jesus and with each other, and that God intends the sacrament to be celebrated together by Christians who accept all the teachings of the Bible. If you are a guest and are not yet a member of the WELS/ELS fellowship, we invite you to learn more about us and, most of all, about the Savior whom God has sent. Then join with us at his communion table. To learn more about our faith and fellowship, speak with Pastor Brauer or Pastor Yahnke.

Personal preparation for Holy Communion can be found on page 156 in front of the hymnal.

Letter of Intent to Purchase Western Avenue Building and Property Our congregation has received a letter of intent from the YMCA to purchase the

Western Avenue building and property. The Church Council has set up an open forum for today between services. Members may ask questions and express their views.

A voters’ meeting has also been scheduled for next Sunday, November 10, between services to vote on the Church Council recommendation that our congregation not accept the letter of intent and continue to pursue the current plans for expanding preschool ministry at TSL.

Evangelical Heritage Version (EHV) The new EHV Bibles are here! If you preordered, you may pick up your Bible(s) in

the church office Monday, Wednesday or Friday from 8 am to 1 pm. Or you may pick them up after services. You are asked to pay when you pick up. The cost is $17 each. Make checks payable to: Trinity Lutheran Church.

Opportunities for Adult Spiritual Growth You are invited to participate in one or more of the Bible studies at Trinity:

1. Monday mornings at 7:00 – We are examining the spread of God’s Word as recorded in the book of Acts. 2. Thursday mornings at 10:30 – We are growing in our understanding of Christian doctrine as they are presented in the book of Romans. 3. Sunday Bible study at 9:15 – We are wrestling with some of Jesus’ harder sayings and applying them to our lives.

Please come! Christian fellowship is a bonus.

Bible Readings Included as an insert is a series of weekly Bible readings (beginning on Sunday,

November 3). These readings feature hymns which contain many Scriptural truths. These same readings are found in the September newsletter.

Thank You Thank you for the Lord’s blessings! The gifts to Synod through the third quarter of

this year have been $65,625 and $4,480 for a grand total of $70,105. Special gifts given to Synod that did not go through our books were $59,052. These are gifts from our members directly to Synod.

Blood Drive

Trinity will host our next Blood Center of Wisconsin blood drive Thursday, November 21 from 1:00-6:00 pm. Walk-ins are welcome, or you can make an appointment by signing up in the Fireside Room or by visiting bcw.edu/trinity. We are also in need of volunteers to help with the drive. If you are able help or have any questions, please call Becky Knauth at 920-262-0647.

Lutheran Girl Pioneers District Camp

ALL girls in grades 5-8 are invited to camp on November 8-10, located at Camp Phillip in Wautoma, WI. We will arrive on Friday night, camp fun all day Saturday, and camp church on Sunday and then head home. Moms are invited to join us. Camp cost is $60 for girls and $50 for adults – all food, supplies and cabins are included. Please RSVP to Julie Radant at 920-285-8305 or Kirsten Young at 608-843-7291 by November 3.

ARC Gala Banquet and Silent Auction Alpha Resource Center (ARC) gala and silent auction is scheduled for November 9,

2019 at Lindberg’s by the River in Watertown. Former Wisconsin Gov. Martin Schreiber will be the keynote speaker. Please call the center at 920-261-9207 to purchase tickets. Or visit the website or facebook page and click on the link bit.ly/alphagala to purchase and reserve your tickets online.

Position Available St. Paul’s Lutheran School (Ixonia) has a full time and part time position available

for an Early Child Care Worker who has experience caring for children ages six weeks to three years. A complete job description is posted on the main bulletin board. Any interested individuals should contact Principal Benjamin Springer at St. Paul's via phone: (920) 261-5589, or email: [email protected].

Veterans Day Observance Trinity-St. Luke’s Lutheran School will hold its annual Veterans Day observance on

Thursday, November 7, 2019. A special program of thanks will be held in the Clark Street campus gymnasium at 9:15 am that morning. Our main speaker for the program will be Emily McFarland, the mayor of Watertown. Special music and art projects will be presented by the children of TSL. We would invite all of our congregational members and friends to come and join in the observance.

At 8:00 am that morning a breakfast will be served in the Clark Street Commons to which our veterans and their spouses and family members are invited. We hope that many will be able to attend! Those attending the breakfast are asked to RSVP by Wednesday, November 6, by calling the Clark Street campus school office at 920-206-1844. If you have any questions or desire further information, please call either school office at 261-3615 or 206-1844.

Our Veterans Day program is a wonderful opportunity to teach the students of TSL about the important role these individuals past and present have played in our country’s history by protecting the liberties we hold so dear. May the Lord continue to bless our veterans, and may God continue to bless the United States!

All Vets Welcome to Veterans Day Observance at LLHS On Wednesday, November 6, we invite vets (and a guest) to join us. We will serve

you breakfast at 8 and offer an opportunity to hear a guest speaker. Finally, we invite you as our honored guest to worship in a special Veterans Day Chapel Service with our student body. You may e-mail Jess Meyer at [email protected] at any time or call (920) 648-2321 x2230 during regular school hours. Please RSVP before Wed, October 30.

How can you help with the Live Nativity? It takes both actors and behind the scenes volunteers to make the Watertown

WELS Live Nativity a reality each year. Sponsored by all four Watertown WELS churches and hosted by St. Luke's, this year's event will take place on Friday, December 6 and Saturday, December 7. Please consider how you might lend your gifts to this evangelism opportunity, and sign up at www.bit.ly/livenativity2019, or contact Trinity member, Dani Matthies (920-585-3427, [email protected]).

We currently are in need of individuals for: acting (no public speaking required!), parking, greeting, costumes, children's activities, kitchen, and more. If you are unable to help out during the actual dates of the event, we are also looking for volunteers to bake cookies. Those sign-ups can be found in the Fireside Room.

Follow the Live Nativity on Facebook: “WELS Live Nativity”.
