I began creating my logo on Photoshop. I improved from the last time I used Photoshop as I selected the expert tool. The expert tool allowed me to manipulate my image in an advanced way through changing the gradient, contrast and cropping the image.

I started my logo by inserting an image on a new layer on Photoshop. I decided to use the Birmingham City Centre Selfridges as the main image for my logo. This will form a recognisable image that my target audience can relate to, it also takes into consideration my target audience which will be the local people of Birmingham.

The magic wand tool allowed me to crop bits of my images which was not needed. It helped me take my image of the background and cut around it so I could manipulate the image to how I want it to look.

I used the text tool to create the name of my local TV News programme. Before this, I had to insert a new layer. Once doing this I used the colour gradient to manipulate the colour of the text into red which is more associated with the UK due to it being part of the flag colours. The text is in standard bold font, this is so that the target audience can clearly read what it says.

After that, I used the enhance tool to manipulate the colour of my logo. As you can see during my improvement I changed the main image of my logo to a more distinct blue. This is so that it relates further to my target audience as red and blue form the colours of the UK flag. The colours of red and blue will then form my house colours for my News programme. My News programme will become recognisable through the colours in its logo.

I then used the text tool again to create the full name of my title sequence. I kept the same font throughout my logo. This is so that my logo maintains a professional standard look which is expected on a news programme to reinforce the seriousness of the programme. The text tool allowed me to manipulate the size of my text so my logo doesn’t look overloaded.

This is my final design for the logo on my TV News programme. By using Selfridges in Birmingham as my main image on my logo the audience can clearly state that my programme will be targeted to the local people of Birmingham through the recognisable main attraction icon. Likewise, the manipulation of red and blue highlights further that my programme will be based on stories surrounding the Midlands.
