Table 1 Step Action on Screen Narration 1 Open Internet browser The first step is opening your internet browser. I am using my mac, so I will be using Safari. 2 Click on the address bar at the top and type in prezi.com Next, you will need to click on the address bar and type in press.com 3 Click on the “Get Started” blue bar Begin by clicking on the blue “Get Started” bar on the page or in the upper right hand corner. This will take you to a page that list the different plans and prices. 4 Click on “continue” You can choose which ever plan you like. But I recommend choosing the “Free” option, at least until you have used this product for a few projects. 5 Completing registration page Using your cursor, click on the first name box and enter your name. Tab through the boxes to complete your name, email, and password. Click on “So what do you do?” bar to indicate which best describes your situation. Once you have completed each step, click on the blue “create your free public account. 6 Your Prezi home page Let’s start by looking at the top of the page. On the left at the top you see the Prezi logo and “Your Prezi”, both of these will bring you back to your Prezi home page. Explore will take you to “Prezis we think you should see page. You have a search bar, if you want to use a specific word search. Or you can choose Staff picks, popular, or scroll down the page to view categories and examples for each. 7 Click on Learn & Support at the top of page -Lets take a look at Learning & Support at the top of the page. -This page has a tutorial videos to help you get started using Prezi. -Below the main video you will find a search box where you can enter keywords or questions. -Below the search bar are a series of tutorial videos. -This page also contains links for billing questions as well as a community forums page where you can ask or answer question. 8 Click on Go Pro link at the top of the page The Go Pro link takes you to a page with all the different plan options. 9 Click on name in the top right corner of page In the top right corner of the page, you will find the name you provided on the registration page. -Clicking on your name will open a variety of links: -Settings & Account will your profile and personal info page. -Profile link will take you just your profile. -Upgrade now will take you to the page with the different plan options (They obviously want to make sure you don’t have to look hard to upgrade your choice of plans). -Referrals gives you the option to share a personal link or to enter the email address to invite your friends (They offer an incentive of a 3 month free upgrade for inviting 3 friends to join Prezi) 10 Click on “Your Prezi” Ok, lets go back to your home page by clicking on “Your Prezi” at the top of the page. 11 Click on “Book Report” I am going to choose the pre-made template “Book Report” as my example. 12 Click on “Save” icon Prezi will periodically save your work. But, just to be on the safe side you should click on this icon as well. 13 Click on the text box “Book Report” I am going to change the title by clicking in the box at the top of the page and enter “Using Prezi to do presentations”. Notice how the word presentation is off the colored background, this is a simple fix. Click on the edge of the text box so that it is wider. -To edit the text it’s self we can click within the text box, which brings up the editing options. -This will let me change the style of the text, increase/decrease font size, color of the font, change the letters to bold and italic or undo them, add color to the text (this does not change the color of the box already there), add bullets, change paragraph style, and increase/decrease indentation, 14 Click on the colored background -Clicking on the edge colored background allows me to increase or decrease the size of colored background area. 15 Click on slide # 2 on the left hand side of the screen. By clicking on the # 2 slide on the side, will bring the next slide to the forefront of the screen. I can edit the text the same way I did on the first slide. I am going to type in “Prezi presentations” and “Add images”. Next I am going to change the color of the font. 16 Click on insert button top center of screen To add an image, I will need to click on the “Insert” button at the top center of the page and select image. As you can see, this will let you insert images, symbols & shapes, Youtube videos, items from my content, change the layout, draw arrows and lines, highlighter, add background music, insert from my files, as well as insert from powerpoint. But for this slide I will replace the image by clicking on the image and choosing replace in the edit box above the picture. I can choose from “Select files”, “Search images on the web”, or “Recommended images”. I will choose to “Search images on the web” by typing in “students using web 2.0 tool box. I will double click on the image I want and Prezi will switch the pictures for me. Now I will edit the text boxes, by typing in “web 2.0 tools” and change the style to title. I will type in “Prezi” in the bottom text box, change the style to title and since I like the way red jumps out, I will change the font color to red. 17 From the left side list of slides, click on the 3rd one. On this slide, I will add a Youtube video. I click on insert and moved down to Youtube video. The box to insert the url pops up. I have to open up a new tab on my browser and go to Youtube. I will type in “Prezi” into the search bar and select one from the choices. I have to open the video up to its page, if don’t then the box on my Prezi will say “wrong url”. So I open up the video all the way by clicking on the title of the video. Now I can move my cursor up to the address bar and click in it. Then I can do a copy and paste the url into the box on my press. It doesn’t center it on the slide, so I have to adjust it to a desired size. Now I can enter my text and edit to look more appropriate for my presentation. 18 On the left side click on the 4th slide and drag it up to become the 3rd slide Now I have decided that I would rather have the video slide be # 4, so I click on the blank slide below it and drag it up to replace it. Prezi automatically changes the slides around on my desk top. Now I can edit this new # 3 slide. I am going to insert something from symbols and shapes under the insert option at the top of the page. I have 8 different styles to choose from. I will choose from the “cute” styles by clicking on it. Now I am going to add the image of 3 children, a clock, and a school. In the top Text box I am going to type in “Prezi”, change the color of the font and adjust the size. In the text box above the children I will type in “children can work on their Prezi projects at home and not be limited to the school day” 19 Click on the 5th slide Now we are going to insert a picture from “My content”. Click on insert at the top of the page and then click on “My content”. Looking in the box that pops up on the right side, I see content that I have found in other Prezi presentations and have saved into my favorites. I click on the content and drag it over to my slide. I only want the videos and not the other formated items, so I delete them. I use the text box that was already on the page and add my commentary. 20 Click on add a slide 6th slide I am going to add 1 more slide. I am going to add an image from my favorites. 21 No Action/Still on 6th slide I have given you a basic overview of Prezi. There are many different styles, transitions, and elements to use. Go explore other Prezi presentations and start adding to your favorites. Congratulations, you are now ready to create your own Prezi presentation. 22 No Action/Still on 6th slide

    12 Click on Save icon Prezi will periodically save your work. But, just to be on the safe side you should click on this icon as well.

    13 Click on the text box Book Report I am going to change the title by clicking in the box at the top of the page and enter Using Prezi to do presentations. Notice how the word presentation is off the colored background, this is a simple fix. As you can see, this will let you insert images, symbols & shapes, Youtube videos, items from my content, change the layout, draw arrows and lines, highlighter, add background music, insert from my files, as well as insert from powerpoint. But for this slide I will replace the image by clicking on the image and choosing replace in the edit box above the picture. I can choose from Select files, Search images on the web, or Recommended images. I will choose to Search images on the web by typing in students using web 2.0 tool box.
