Opportunities at the Scrapstore!
We have over 70 amazing, inspiring, hard working and extremely loyal volunteers, without
who much of our work would not and could not happen.
There are many opportunities within the Scrapstore to volunteer; here are just a few of the
exciting roles that volunteers undertake:
Barty’s Arts and Crafts in Lacock village – can you spare a few hours one day a week to
work in our unique and vibrant village shop? Life is never dull in Lacock with the many
tourists from all over the world and the constant visits by film crews to make dramas such as
Downton Abbey, Cranford and films including Harry Potter. You never know who you might
serve; we have had a number of famous customers over the years!!
Social Enterprise – where our crafty packs are created, an array of interesting and versatile
shapes are cut out using a specialist machine and the Scrapstores wonderful resources are
upcycled into items we can sell in our gift shop. At this busy time of the year, many hands
are needed to keep up the production of craft packs as they are such popular stocking
fillers.
Scrapstore Warehouse – going out in our van to collect resources from our suppliers,
sorting through the exciting collections to restock the warehouse shelves for our customers
and generally keeping the warehouse tidy, a never ending job!! You never know what
resources are going to come in next and there is always excitement from all the staff and
volunteers when a van load of new goodies arrive!
Café – Learn how to make ‘proper’ coffee!! Using our beautiful Barista coffee machine you
will learn how to create, Latte’s, Cappuccinos, Americanos and Macchiattos! The café is the
social hub of the Scrapstore and is always buzzing.
Our volunteers range from those who have taken a break from paid work, those who have
retired from full time work, students wanting to gain experience in the workplace or
undertaking their Duke of Edinburgh award to adult with specific needs.
If you would like to join our happy, exciting charity please contact
Glynis for more information on 01249 730011 or email
So all that remains is for us to wish you all a Very
Happy Christmas and all the best for a wonderful
2016!
