Profile:
I have a proven track record as a highly skilled engineer in the aviation sector, specialising in aircraft mechanical systems . With over seven years’ service in the Royal Air Force I have achieved the rank of Senior (Aircraftsman) Technician and am now
looking to transfer my skills to the private sector to take my career to the next level. An Adaptable, flexible and committed individual I have proven that I am willing to perform duties above my post in the absence of senior figures in my workplace. I have performed my duties under pressure on many occasions to tight time constraints whilst ensuring that my work is carried
out to the highest s tandard. An adept problem solver who is always self-motivated, I am accustomed to working in extreme environments whether it i s climatic, geographical or business cri tical.
Professional Experience:
Jan 2011-Present
Senior Aircraftsman technician and Corporal on the Puma HC1/2 in a depth maintenance role. In this role I have worked on many systems including hydraulics, fuel, under carriage, engines and some minor airframe repairs. I am tasked with the inspection, stripping and rectifying or replacing parts as well as assisting in the decision making process of whether the pa rts have to be replaced or not. All the while ma king sure that the a ircraft i s repaired to a high s tandard before undergoing rigorous fl ight testing and return to first line service.
As well as my primary role I have also been an integral part of the Puma HC2 Maintenance planning team this involved planning
out a l l the jobs involved in the longest servicing that the aircraft would undergo in the hanger. Doing this involved communicating with senior members of my establishment to ensure that the servicing was thoroughly planned and that all the tools, spares and associated petrol’s, oils and lubricants had been demanded from external agencies to ensure a smooth
servicing can be carried out. Also in my time in depth maintenance I was part of the Puma 2 acceptance team whose job was to ensure that when the aircraft was received from the manufacturer that all of the updates had been carried out as detailed in
the extension programme and any deficiencies reported to senior management.
Nov 2009 – Jan 2011
Undertook my mechanical engineering training at DCAE Cosford
Jun 2008 – Nov 2009
Senior aircraftsmen on the Vickers VC10 in a first line role. In this role I covered all aspects of working on a flight l ine including ensuring that the aircraft pan was set up to receive aircraft, marshalling the aircraft in and o ut and carrying out all aspects of
before and after flight servicing’s (mechanical, electrical and avionic). Also in this role I carried out mechanical component replacements and structural repairs I serviced and maintained the hydraulic systems, carried o ut landing gear servicing and replaced main and nose wheel assemblies and brake packs. I have carried out repairs on large a ircraft integral fuel tank
assemblies. I also carried out engine health checks, and replaced many first l ine components on the engin e and repaired engine
fan blade minor damage (Blade blending) as well as assisting aircraft engine ground runs. Another of my duties was to accompany the aircraft on missions away from i ts home base where myself and one other would often be tasked with ens uring that the aircraft was able to make its return journey back to i ts base.
