Showing their support of the fight against Cancer in the Bahamas, Team Scotia is participating in various activities to promote Cancer Awareness Month - a month where cancer charities focus on raising awareness of the disease and working together to raise funds for the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of breast cancer. To help raise awareness and donate to this very important cause, all Scotiabank branches have been decorated in pink and staff members will wear pink and denim on the first and final Fridays in October.
Scotiabank (Bahamas) Ltd. has donated over $80,000 in support of cancer care, research and treatment in The Bahamas through various initiatives and organizations over the last five years.
LARGEST PARTICIPATION AT CANCER SOCIETY’S STRIDE FOR LIFE:An additional show of support for this cause is the bank’s sponsorship and participation in the Cancer Society’s Stride for Life Walk. This past Saturday Team Scotia showed up in record numbers maintaining the title of largest corporate participant at the walk for the 3rd consecutive year. The Bank has been a corporate sponsor of the Cancer Society of the Bahamas for many years, sponsoring the walk since inception.
