SCOT Dance Event Over 200 guests attended SCOT’s fundraising function on 4th August 2012 at Watersmeet Theatre, Rickmansworth, Herts, and everyone was full of praise for the high quality performance and production. The Canadian dance troupe had their own audiovisual back screen presentations explaining various themes of evolution of the classical dancing from thousand years BC to the present day ballet. This was coupled with a Ukrainian dance by a leading Ukrainian artiste showing how this has advanced in the cities and towns of North America. At the end of the performance Dr Kanchana Sivalingam was graced with a Ponnaadai by SCOT Trustee, Dr Vathsala Paramanathan and Vice President, Dr Sakunthala Satgunaseelan. All other artistes were thanked and gifted with presents. The Master of Ceremonies, Mrs Anandaranee Balendra, was presented with flowers by Miss Georgina Selvarajah. Just before the intermission Vice President, Dr Easwaran Velauthapillai gave a brief talk about how the diaspora Tamils could continue to help SCOT's humanitarian and rehabilitation activities in the North and East of Sri Lanka. General Secretary of SCOT, Dr Sankaralingam proposed the vote of thanks. He thanked all those who had made the event a success and reminded all those present that the next SCOT event would be the Annual Dinner and Dance on 1st Dec 2012 at Harrow Arts Centre, Harrow. He wished everyone a safe journey home.
