LeonardoDRS.com/AIS PROVEN TECHNOLOGIES FOR CRITICAL COMMUNICATIONS The Leonardo DRS Shipboard Carry-On SATCOM System (SCOSS) allows for easy setup and operation within 30 minutes of boarding a ship and provides continuous service on wideband satellite networks while underway. SCOSS can transmit and receive at data rates up to 6 Mbps using both commercial Ku or X-Band frequencies. The Leonardo DRS X-Band variant is certified for operation on the Paradigm, XTAR and WGS satellite constellations. The lightweight and dual-purpose design allows for easy deployment on both large and small Navy vessels. If needed, the system can also be removed from the ship and installed on a vehicle to provide continuous high bandwidth communication. Modes of operation include both single and dual antenna (diversity) configurations. Diversity mode is used to compensate for shipboard blockage issues and allows two terminals to be connected to a single modem in a remote RF convergence box. The RF convergence box automatically manages the antenna while maintaining continuous modem lock. Single antenna mode allows the user to select the embedded modem or an external L-Band modem. SCOSS kits are designed to meet military standards for shipboard operation. The system has passed MIL-STD-810 (environmental), MIL-STD-461 (radiated and conducted emissions), and MIL- STD-464 (electromagnetic environmental effects). The Leonardo DRS SCOSS kit comes ready for operation in an iDirect network with an embedded iDirect e850MP Satellite Modem. The antenna unit also brings out standard L-Band for use with any other satellite modem. A single SCOSS terminal can be transported with only 3 transit cases and only 5 transit cases for dual antenna diversity mode. A complete 5 case dual antenna SCOSS kit occupies less than half of an ISU-90 shipping container. The full diversity kit includes two SATCOM terminals, two AC power supply modules, two fiber optic communications converters, two inertial navigation units, and one RF convergence box. PROVEN TECHNOLOGIES FOR CRITICAL COMMUNICATIONSThe Leonardo DRS Shipboard Carry-On SATCOM System (SCOSS) allows for easy setup and operation within 30 minutes of boarding a ship and provides continuous service on wideband satellite networks while underway.

The system has passed MIL-STD-810 (environmental),

MIL-STD-461 (radiated and conducted emissions), and MIL-STD-464 (electromagnetic environmental effects).
