I.Ya.Horbachevskyy Born May 15, 1854 in the village Zarubyntsi Zbarazh district of Ternopil region. in family sv'yaschennyka. He studied at the Ternopil gymnasium. He graduated from the Faculty of Medicine The Vienna University.

Ivan Yakovlevich Gorbatchevski

From 1883 to 1917 I.Ya.Horbachevskyy was a Professor of Medical Chemistry Czech Charles University in Praga, head of the Department of Pharmacology and physiology chemistry. In 1902-1903 he was - Rector of the Czech University.  In 1919 he became Professor of Chemistry in Vienna newly created Ukrainian university in 1923 - the rector of the same university. Since 1923, simultaneously teaches Chemistry in the Ukrainian economic academy.

The first scientific labor I.Ya.Horbachevskoho related primarily of Organic Chemistry and physiology.

He is one of the first identified amino acids. For the first time in the world

synthesized uric acid with urea (1882) and amino acids with hlitsyn.

In 1886 Published work on the synthesis of creatine identified enzyme xanthine oxidase

(1889-1891 years)

Labor I.Ya.Horbachevskoho started study of methabolizm of nitrogenous compounds and pathology purine exchange, including gout. A number of papers devoted scientist chemistry,

hygiene and epidemiology.

I.Ya.Horbachesvskyy perform community work -

Zaporozhye State Medical University is distinguishing beginning of Odessa Women's top courses, which are Open air in 1903 i proisnuvaly until 1921

In 1921 was organized by Odessa chemical-pharmaceutical institute on the basis of the former chemical-pharmaceutical faculty of the Odessa University. In 1930 Odessa chemical-pharmaceutical institute was reorganized in medical and analytical institute of the sanitary i medical laboratory departments.

In 1935, medical and analytical institute was liquidated, and became his successor Pharmaceutical Institute, the base of which was transferred to Kyiv Pharmaceutical Institute, i was imenuvatys Odessa pharmaceutical institute.

In 1959 YEAR Institute was moved to Zaporozhye i called - Zaporizkyj Pharmaceutical Institute. In 1964 on the basis of the Institute was opened healing department. In 1968, Pharmaceutical Institute was reorganized into Zaporizkyj Medical College (now - Zaporozhye State Medical University).
