“Does electricity conduct through rubber?”
Hypothesis
We think that rubber is one of the materials that could block electricity
Procedure
Materials:• Rubber(eraser)• 2 Crocodile clips• Light bulb• Light bulb holder• 2 batteries• Battery holderSteps:1. Screw the light bulb into the light bulb holder2. Take the eraser and cut 2 small bits of it out and
clip it onto one side of the crocodile clips3. Put the batteries onto the battery holder4. Clip the other side of the crocodile clips onto the
battery holder’s nails5. Hold the one of the crocodile clips side that has
rubber on it to the light bulb holder’s nails.

What happens when we use rubber
Observations and Discoveries
• Wood, ceramic, glass and fabric are other things that doesn’t conduct electricity
• Blue tack on the light bulb holder’s nail conducts electricity
• If we put normal tape on the light bulb’s nail it still lights up
• Plastic doesn’t block electricity• The reason why the people who work near electricity
wear rubber gloves and boots is to protect them from getting electric shots.
• Rubber is an insulator
Explanation
Circuit= A complete path for an electrical current
Conductor= Materials that electricity can travel through
Insulators= Materials which can stop heat, electricity and sound from escaping
