Pt. Madan Mohan Malviya ji in 1916, is one of the most prestigious
central University in the country. The university has two campus main
campuses at Varanasi and Rajiv Gandhi South campus at Barkachha,
Mirzapur with 6 institutes, 14 Faculties, 132 departments, 4 advanced
centers and 4 inter disciplinary schools. Pt. Madan Mohan Malviya ji
himself was believer of traditional system of medicine and in the year
1922 , Ayurveda was established as a unit in faculty of oriental
learning & theology. In 1927, AMS Degree course was started under
faculty of medicine and surgery (Ayurveda). In 1963, a post graduate
institute of Indian medicine was established. In 1971 college of
medical sciences (which was established in 1960) was merged with
post graduate institutes of Indian medicines and Institute of Medical
Sciences came into existence with joint faculty. In 1978, the joint
faculty was divided into faculty of Medicine and faculty of Indian
medicines, which was later renamed as faculty of Ayurveda in the year
1985. The Department of Samhita& Sanskrit and Siddhant Darshana
(Formerly Basic Principle) have glorious past history. The
Department of Ayurveda was founded with appointment of
Charkacharya Dharama Das ji by Pt.M.M. Malaviya ji since very
beginning. Subsequently Padam Bhushan Pt. Satyanarayana Shasthri
ji, Acharya Rajeshwer Datta Shastri ji, AcharyaYadunandan
Upadhyaya ji, Acharya Ramanath Dwivedi ji and Acharya Laxmi
Dhar Dwivedi ji were glittering great persons related to present
Samhita & Sanskrit Department which is founded over erstwhile
department of Ayurveda. On the other hand former Basic Principle
department associates with great names like Prof. D.S. Sharma Gaur
ji , Prof. H.C. Shukla ji, Prof. L.V.Guru ji and Acharya Jyotirmitra ji
and Prof G P Dubey. In 1999, undergraduate course has been restarted
as BAMS degree. The department of Basic Principles had been
bifurcated and renamed as Department of Siddhant Darshaan in 2006.
The present Siddhant Darshana department is continued with rich
heritage and legacy. The university is celebrating its centenary year of
its establishment. Therefore to commemorate the important event,
One day National seminar is going to be jointly organized by both
departments. Present National seminar is proposed to organize and

maintain the continuity of legacy of earlier seminars organized on
Caraka Samhita and Tridosa Siddhant, Charak samhita and its
relevance in contemporary age. The following broad areas are
proposed for deliberations by the participants during different
scientific sessions of the one day seminar.

The registration fee 700/= ( Rupees seven hundred only) for `-

Samhita& Sanskrit. On Spot registration Charge is -1000/- `
The registration form duly completed along with the
registration fees and abstract of research paper should reach to

Registration fees does not include accommodation.
Accommodation is participant's own responsibility.
Call for Abstract
Abstract are invited for oral/poster presentation from
individuals, groups and organizations. The abstract should be
typed in Times New Roman of 12 points with 1.5 lines spacing
carrying title in capital bold, followed by the author's name
affiliation, postal address and email Id of the corresponding
author. One copy of abstract not exceeding 250 words (without
any sketch & table, including objectives of the study, the
methods used, results obtained and conclusions drawn should
be submitted on A4 size paper with 2.5 cm margin at all sides.
