OA publishing 3.0Beyond the journal, a redefinedrole in the research ecosystem?
Dr. Stephanie Dawson, CEOCOASP Paris 17-19 September 2014
23.0: From container to platform
Publishing 3.0 is usually used to describe new trends in self-publishing. What does that mean for the future of academic OA publishing? No need for journals as “container” to
transport information. Search and discovery usually direct to
article. “Impact” measured on article level, so
Journal Impact Factors lose meaning. New ways to create user-driven content
specific collections - Open Access. Publishing as a service with the author as
customer and fees based on costs.
