Maths Year 1: We will be exploring 2D and 3D shapes learning to recognise, name and sort, Count forwards and backwards and write number within 20 in numeral and words, looking at tens and ones, counting one more one less and comparing groups of objects, numbers and grouping these. Year 2: We will be exploring 2D and 3D shapes developing mathematical language e.g. sides, edges, vertices and faces, count Literacy Year 1: The main focus will be on writing clear sentences with a capital letter, finger spaces and a full stop. We will be using our Fred talk to support our writing using the sounds we have learnt. We will look at and write traditional tale themed narratives and predictable patterns. Year 2: Will be continuing to apply their phonics knowledge and skills to decode words until fluent readers and writers. KUW/History and Geography We will be using aerial photographs to recognise our community and basic features of these. We will be looking at the aerial view of our school and labelling the different parts of Physical Development/ P.E. During our P.E sessions we will be developing our hand eye coordination through ball games. We will also be working on our catching and throwing. Arts The children will be exploring different artists and using this to encourage our paintings and drawings. During our music sessions, the children will explore different KUW/ Science and computing Science: We will be learning about the different seasons. Discussing what is different and similar and what makes them all unique. We will also be looking at and experimenting with different materials, thinking about what qualities they have. We will be finding the best material to build a house for the three little pigs. Computing: Dove Class will learn to KUW/R.E. We will discuss and learn about how people share feelings and experiences. We will be exploring the creation of the world. Your help Children need to be in line at 8.50am, please let your child enter the classroom on their own. They need to be picked up at 3.15pm outside the classroom in the infant playground. Please make sure all items of uniform, PE kits etc. are clearly named. They do go missing! We aim to change the reading books and listen to the children read in school at least twice a week. Year 2: We will be exploring 2D and 3D shapes developing mathematical language e.g. sides, edges, vertices and faces, count objects to 100 and read and write numbers in number and words, represent numbers to 100, tens and ones using our part part whole model, use a place value chart and

Computing: Dove Class will learn to use a mouse, use iPads, and discuss common uses of IT in and outside of school. They will also play maths and science games

Your helpChildren need to be in line at 8.50am, please let your child enter the classroom on their own. They need to be picked up at 3.15pm outside the classroom in the infant playground.
