IntroductionHi, here in this presentation we are going to explain you

how do water can help our excretory system, what it can produce in our body and the benefits it can give us. We are going to show you pictures, paragraphs and little explanations about this, so that you can understand very interesting details about this topic. Some times you could have questions and doubts about the excretion, and you don’t understand why some people could have illnesses releated to it. Here we are going to answer you those things, so you could realize some things you need to know.

We hope that you like this presentation and that you learn a lot about it.

Sincerely: Valentina and Mariana

What is excretion?Excretion is the process by

which the body gets rid of wastes and toxins that could be damaging to the body. The kidneys, liver, and skin are important components of excretion.

The process of removal of a compound or its metabolites from the body, normally via the lungs for volatile substances and by either minor routes such as skin, saliva or intestinal mucosa.

Page 7: Science water i excretory system

Human excretion Definition: the excretory system is the body system that separates and gives off the waste from the body, usually as urine or sweat. It is who get rid of the body wastes, and involves the lungs to remove carbon dioxide from the body, the large intestine in which solid wastes pass through, and the kidneys which remove the bulk of the liquid waste.

Organs/ Pictures

Functions Illnesses Tips to take care

Kidneys Filter waste materials out of the blood. The waste is passed out out of the body as

urine. Kidneys produce important

hormones and regulate blood

pressure and the levels of water, salts, and minerals in the

body.

Not all kidneys work perfectly. When

someone's kidneys have problems people

call them chronic kidney disease, and

there are 2 types congential (when

someone is born) and acquitted (Over the

time)

1Drink plenty of fluids

2Avoid caffeine3Cut back on bumpy road rides4Eat cleansing foodsYou will feel better

about taking control of your health when

you use tips like these to protect

your kidneys.

Page 8: Science water i excretory system

UreterIt carries urine from the kidneys to the urinary bladder to be stored. The ureters enter the urinary bladder at an angle to help prevent

any backflow (reflux) of urine back into the

ureter.

Obstruction of the ureter,

Ureteral reflux,Ureteral stones,Cancer of Ureter,Ureteral pelvic junction,Urethritis, inflammation of ureter,Ureter cancer,vesico ureteric reflex,ureterocele,Megaureter,Anatomical abnormalities

Take antibiotics (medication for infections)Take pain medication as prescribed if needed.Drink plenty of fluids Eat your normal diet. Do your normal routines when your doctor tells you. Keep your doctor’s appointments so your stent can be checked, removed, or replaced.

Urethra The urethra is the tube that carries the urine from the bladder to

outside the body. is a tube that connects the urinary bladder to the outside of the body. In

males, the urethra travels through the penis, and carries

semen as well as urine

Some illnesses in the urethra are:

UrethritisInfectious UrethritisTraumatic UrethritisUrethral stricture disease

Drink plenty of water.

Empty your bladder regularly and completely.

Urinate after sexual intercourse.

To relieve cramps or abdominal pain, you may want to use a hot water bottle or a electric heating pad on a low setting.

Page 9: Science water i excretory system

Urinary bladder The bladder is a hollow, muscular, balloon

shaped organ that lies in your pelvis. It collects

urine from your kidneys and stores it until it is full enough to empty through the urethra. Nerves in the bladder tell you when it is time to. As the bladder first

fills with urine, you may notice a feeling that you

need to urinate

Bladder cancer

Bed-wettingUrinary incontinence (loss of bladder control)Urinary retention (bladder-emptying problems)Retrograde ejaculation

(bladder muscles don't work properly and causes male ejaculation to go into the bladder)

After urination, females should wipe from front to back with toilet paper. After bowel movements, be sure to wipe from front to back to avoid spreading bacteria from the rectal area to the urethra. Another thing you can do to prevent bladder infections is go to the bathroom frequently. Avoid holding your urine for long periods of time.

Liver To produce substances that break down fats,

convert glucose to glycogen, produce urea (the main substance of

urine), make certain amino acids (the

building blocks of proteins), filter harmful

substances from the blood (such as alcohol), storage of vitamins and minerals (vitamins A, D, K and B12) and maintain a proper level or glucose in the blood. The liver is

also responsible for producing cholesterol

Some of the diseases are Wilson's Disease,

hepatitis (an inflammation of the liver), liver cancer,

and cirrhosis (a chronic inflammation

that progresses ultimately to organ

failure). Alcohol alters the metabolism of

the liver, which can have overall

detrimental effects if alcohol is taken over long periods of time.

Eat right to keep your liver healthy.Watch your fat consumption.Set some bounds when consuming drinks high in caffeine.Monitor your sugar intake.Avoid drinking too much alcohol.Stop smoking and stay away from toxic.Wear protection when having intercourse and avoid sharing personal itemsVisit your doctor.

Acne: Apply some type of crème or wash your face with special things for the problem.

Sun: Do not stay a lot of time in front the sun that would cause your skin a lot of problems.Avoid getting cold sores in the first place by not sharing stuff like lip balm, toothbrushes, or drinks with other people who might have cold sores.Avoid using other people makeup.Go and visit your dermatologist.

Lungs The function of our lungs is to take in air, it contains several gases, including

oxygen, that your cells need to function. With each

breath, your lungs add fresh oxygen to your blood, which then carries it to your cells. The main function of your

lungs is respiration.

How do water can help our excretory system?

Water is very important for our excretory system, it helps a lot of our organs to complete their function and it protect them too. Some of this organs can get clean of water and then this dirt water get out. Other organs need the diary consumption of water to prevent some infections and bacteria's on it. Water consumption help some organs to have less work and stress and like this we can prevent some illnesses. Like a conclusion I can said that the diary consumption of water is necessary not only for some organs of this system is for all of it because if something happened it could happened something terrible and all the system break down, so water help a lot this system and is good to start having a good consumption of water for your body.

Page 15: Science water i excretory system

How do water can help each excretory part?

Many people spend their days in a state of mild dehydration. Consuming far fewer fluids than they should. Water comprises approximately 60% of your body. It's basic for survival. If you're stranded on a deserted isle, find drinking water first.

Skin is intricately tied to the overall health of your body. When your body is properly hydrated, you'll look better and feel better.

Enhanced health Increased energy Bright, clear eyes A radiant complexion In addition, bloating and puffiness often disappear. Water: Carries nutrients to every cell in your body Flushes out nasty toxins Improves circulation and blood flow Lubricates your joints.

Page 16: Science water i excretory system

Consuming lots of fresh fruits and vegetables for healthy skin will satisfy some of your body's fluid requirement. A bonus is they are loaded with anti-aging anti-oxidants!

Lungs: Your body is estimated to be about 60 to 70 percent water. Blood

is mostly water, and your muscles, lungs, and brain all contain a lot of water. Your body needs water to regulate body temperature and to provide the means for nutrients to travel to all your organs. Water also transports oxygen to your cells, removes waste, and protects your joints and organs.

Water always is not good: The lungs are the organ responsible for bringing oxygen into the

body. While the membranes that line the lungs and chest cavity need fluid to lubricate them, the air sacs of the lungs need to stay dry.

When the air sacs get filled with water, the body can no longer absorb oxygen from the lungs. This condition is called pulmonary edema and it can devastate the body if left untreated.

Page 17: Science water i excretory system

A human bodies blood supply requires water, the organs require water, the muscles ,fat tissue and even the bones all require water too.

LIVER: Water is the key component of helping your body to dispose of

wastes, toxins and bacteria properly. This system is made up of the liver, gall bladder, and the intestines or colon. The liver is an essential part of this disposal system though, because it's job is to filter out the toxins, bacteria and waste. The liver creates bile from the toxins it filters from your system, and then sends that on to the gall bladder.

A body which does not get enough water each day though, has extra stress added to the liver functionality. The liver is not able to filter and process wastes and toxins from your system as effectively when it does not have an adequate supply of water. So the liver starts functioning slower, and at less than optimal levels, and this can cause a variety of health problems throughout your body because toxins are no longer being filtered as well.

Page 18: Science water i excretory system

Kidneys: Our kidneys are like a machine. They get all this dirt that our body has carried to them in liquid form. Then the kidneys sift through all the dirt and help put back into our bodies cleaner liquid. The dirty liquid is then tossed over to the bladder. We want to go to the bathroom when the bladder is already full. Your kidneys can only work with so much. If there isn't much fluid coming in, it is a lot harder to clean out the yucky stuff.

So Water help the kidneys to get clean and without water is not possible to the bladder get full and we can not go to the bathroom.

Urethra: A good way to prevent an infection is to drink lots of fluids, particularly water. Each time you urinate, some bacteria that happen to be dwelling in your urethra or bladder get flushed out. It’s not unusual for some bacteria to reach your urinary system, and most of the time they will cause no harm. If you don’t drink lots of water, you won’t urinate as much and in turn let bacteria stay inside yourself too long.

Page 19: Science water i excretory system

When to Drink Water (for everyone) urinary bladder:

Drink water any time you are experiencing symptoms.  If you are susceptible to urinary tract infections increase your water consumption especially at the following times:  1/2 an hour before physical activity (body water is lost through sweat and increased metabolic rate).

if you wake up in the night to urinate, drink water before returning to sleep.

after urinating after sexual activity after exposure to heat when standing or sitting upright after lying recumbent anytime you think of it if the symptoms get worse. before going to sleep

Page 20: Science water i excretory system

What liquid we cannot drink, and what they can cause in our body?

Caffeine: Most coffee drinkers don't realize it, but their morning cups of coffee set their

bodies up for a rollercoaster day of highs and lows, only to bottom out at the point of exhaustion. Just a few hours after consumption, when the artificial high dies down, many people may reach for more coffee or something sugary to get another lift, leading to daily fluctuations in energy and alertness, and possibly to eventual chronic adrenal exhaustion.

When you consume caffeine, the drug begins its effects by initiating uncontrolled neuron firing in your brain, This excess neuron activity triggers your pituitary gland to secrete a hormone that tells your adrenal glands to produce adrenalin. Within five minutes after you drink your morning coffee, the caffeine begins to stimulate your central nervous system, triggering the release of stress hormones in your body, causing a stress ("fight or flight" ) response. The stress hormones are useful if you need to prepare yourself to fight or flee a dangerous situation, but if you are simply sitting at your desk you may feel a short charge of alertness, quickly followed by feelings of agitation.

Page 21: Science water i excretory system

Alcohol: Effects & Dangers: Alcohol first acts as a stimulant, and then it makes people feel

relaxed and a bit sleepy. High doses of alcohol seriously affect judgment and coordination.

Drinkers may have slurred speech, confusion, depression, short-term memory loss, and slow reaction times.

Large volumes of alcohol drunk in a short period of time may cause alcohol poisoning.

Addictiveness: Teens who use alcohol can become psychologically dependent upon it to feel good, deal with life, or handle stress. In addition, their bodies may demand more and more to achieve the same kind of high experienced in the beginning. Some teens are also at risk of becoming physically addicted to alcohol. Withdrawal from alcohol can be painful and even life threatening. Symptoms range from shaking, sweating, nausea, anxiety, and depression to hallucinations, fever, and convulsions

How can we take care of our excretory system?

You can care of your excretory system if you make some of this tips: You can take some proper dietaryMake some exercise eat healthy, do not smokeIntake of fiber drink a lot of water Stay away from unnecessary drugs that are filtered through the

kidneysHave a well balanced diet, check your blood pressure and sugar

pressureDrinking plenty of water to keep nice your urine Not holding your urine when you have to go to prevent

UTI's(urinary tract infections.)

Page 23: Science water i excretory system

ConclusionAt final we conclude that water is important in

many aspects and it have a lot to be in many systems of humans and that it help a lot the excretory system, without water we can’t make some things like right now and either we can’t live. Water make possible to our excretory system works well and we to don’t wet sick, but really nobody can survive without water because it make function all in our body.
