TASK 1- Light and the eye

Light is needed to help us to see objects. Answer the questions below about light.

1. Circle the correct bold word in the sentences below.

TASK 2 - Reflection

1. Match the keyword to its meaning by drawing lines between them.

2. When light hits a surface such as a mirror, it bounces off the mirror – it is

reflected. When light is reflected in this way it follows a law known as the “law

of reflection”. The diagram below shows the “law of reflection”.

TASK 3 – Refraction

Refraction is another property of light that happens when it travels from one medium to

another. For example from air to water. The diagram below shows what it looks like

1. White light is made up of seven different colours of light. Using coloured pens or

pencils, show what happens to white light when it enters a prism.

2. We can make all the colours of light using three colours. These are known as the
