I am delighted to be back at school, I was out for several weeks due to an injury. While I was out I truly missed WHS! March 2nd is Dr. Seuss’ Birthday. In many classes your child will be taking part in events to celebrate reading. There are several opportunities this coming weekend to attend a basketball game either at Yale or QU. Thank you for being our partner in your child’s education! Please consider purchasing Otis Spunkmeyer Cookie Dough or Joyful Traditions Cake Rolls to help support our end of year activities. Paper order forms are due, with payment, to your child's homeroom teacher by March 20th. Students will share what they have learned about African-American leaders and culture through music, poetry, art and their written work. 3-8 Black History Month Program: Friday, February 28th at 1:30 in the Upper School Auditorium. Students will commemorate the contributions of African-Americans, especially those of the Harlem Renaissance, through music, poetry and art. Parents are welcome! Pi Day Program for Girls in grades 5-8 at Sacred Heart Academy! Saturday, March 14th from 9am-12pm. To register, email [email protected] https://patch.com/connecticut/hamden/sacred-heart -academy-offers-pi-day-program-middle-schoolers WHS students will be featured at a Yale men's basketball game this winter, on Saturday night, Feb. 29. That evening, the WHS Arpeggios will sing the National Anthem before the 7 p.m. game--while the WHBA grades 5/6 team will scrimmage at halftime. The game will be Yale's senior night, vs. Princeton. While participating Arpeggios and grades 5/6 WHBA team members will receive complimentary admission, interested family members are invited to purchase tickets in advance via the following: Welcome to the Yale Athletics Ticketing site!.
