Astounding performance by the Nightingale’s of VBS

It was a matter of great pride for Vidya Bharati School as two of our students of got an

opportunity to perform in the Grand Finale of Devotional Song Concert organized by

“Balaji Sharnam Parivar”. The concert was organized on 21st March 2016. It was a

momentous occasion for the budding artists Simran Meelu and Aditi Dhyani. Such a

large platform did not deter these young and talented singers and they won astonishing

appreciation from all present there. Simran & Aditi got compliments for their

melodious rendition. These students got the opportunity to perform on a such a huge

platform as in the audition organized by the Balaji Sharnam Parivar, earlier in the

month, they were short listed for their mesmerizing performance as they enamored the

judges with their alluring voice.

1) To aware the students as to how and why the books came into existence

2) To highlight the importance of books

3) To stress the importance of reading books

4) to emphasize that books are a student’s best friend

RED COLOUR DAY CELEBRATION– 2016-17 Date and venue

Red color Day was celebrated on 22.03.2016 by the students of Pre Primary in the Pre Primary corridor.

Agenda To make the children aware of the objects of red color To develop their fine motor and socio emotional skills To develop their communication skills To infuse the concept of red color Participants Students of class Nursery Highlights The students were made to recognize red color through various games and play way activities. The children interacted with each other by exchanging the red colored objects. Activities like rhyme recitation, crown making, tip printing further strengthened the red color recognition. They really enjoyed playing with red balloons. They also brought red colored eatables.

Analysis The children enjoyed their day to the fullest and got learned the red color as well. The children were familiarized with red color and were also convinced to eat red colored seasonal fruits.

ASSEMBLY REPORT: 2016-17

THEME: EARTH DAY

Date and venue

An assembly with the Earth Day theme was conducted on 26.04.2016 in Vidya Bharati School’s

Assembly ground.

To make the students aware about the importance of Mother Earth

To sensitize them about green and clean environment

To stress on the importance of plantation of trees and saving environment for our own survival

Highlights Students took initiative in sensitizing their peers about grave consequences of being

indifferent to Mother Earth

Birthday buddies were greeted

Analysis The students enjoyed the assembly as it was about an issue which touches our life deeply.

This assembly illustrated deep bonding, coordination and team work among XII C2 graders.

REPORT – GEAR UP TO KHOUGUE

Vidya Bharati School participated in the first youth cup Taekwondo Championship on 24th

April 2016 at commonwealth sports complex. Out of 150 participants from Delhi & NCR, 13

students from our school participated in it. It is a matter of great joy that we got 12 medals in total

out of 13 participations, 4 Gold, 3 Silver & 5 Bronze medals.

Inter School English Spelling Competition

To become successful in life, education is of paramount importance and ‘words’ form the basis of

education. They are the indispensible part of sentence formation and the final conversation. To

provide fun through words, Linc Uni organized the Inter-School English Spelling Competition. The

City Finale of Delhi area was held on 25th April 2016 at Kamani Auditorium, Delhi. 200 schools

from in and around NCR participated in this contest. Vidya Bharati School was also one of them.

Our team comprising of Pallavi Singh and Himanshu Bagaria of class X also participated in this

competition with zest. These two contestants got an opportunity to be a part of this City Finale as

they had earlier qualified for the same when the first round that was held in the respective school.

In the final there were two rounds (i) Spelling story (ii) Anagram. The event was a great learning

experience for the students as it provided them the much needed exposure and platform.

Report on Legal Literacy Programme

Date and venue Two groups comprising of 30 students each of grade IX and X of Vidya Bharati School visited the Karkardooma District Court, Delhi on 25th & 26th April 2016. They were accompanied by Ms. Madhurima Singh, Ms. Simmi Tyagi, Mr. Ghanshyam, Ms. Sonakshi and Mr. Rajesh Khanna.

Agenda To enlighten students about functioning of the Court through Legal Awareness Program

To sensitize them about the law and legal procedures of our country.

Participants Grade – IX & X students of Vidya Bharati School.

Highlights Sh. Talwant Singh, Ld. District & Sessions Judge (East) and Ms. Bhawani Sharma, Secretary DLSA (EAST) were

jointly presented the School Memento for organizing this special visit to the Court.

The students got an opportunity to visit many places inside the court premises and were acquainted with the purpose and functioning of each.

Court of Ld. Sessions Court where the Ld. Session Judge interacted with the student and lucidly explained to them the functioning of the Court relating to matters as how Police works, how charge-sheet is submitted, how trial proceeds, how evidence is taken, how witnesses depose, etc.

Students also visited the Ld. Metropolitan Magistrate’s Court.

The students came to know the importance of Mediation Centre as the centre for inexpensive, quick,out of settlement of cases by means of Mediation Proceeding.

The students also paid a visit to Ld. Bhawani Sharma, Secretary Delhi State Legal Services Authority (DLSA-East) who while interacting with students talked about women laws, Domestic Violence Act, how to seek legal help, the need of legal education in school curriculum and ways to reduce juvenile crimes.

Everyone appreciated the interest taken by students in judicial system of our country and answered all the queries raised by students.

Analysis

The students enjoyed this beyond books outing which provided them experiential learning about legal processes.

They were sensitized about the law and vowed to become law abiding citizens of India.

Some students also developed interest in taking up Law as their career.

REPORT ON INTERHOUSE YOGA COMPETITION An Inter House Yoga competition was held in Vidya Bharati School on 29th April 2016. Participation was in two categories - III to V & VI to VIII.

The students were judged on their posture and technique. They exhibited great enthusiasm towards the event. A few of the students have perfect and flawless posture during the competition.

A special assembly to celebrate Earth day was conducted on the theme “The Earth and the family" on 28th April 2016 in VBS assembly ground. It was presented by class VIll C students at 08:00 am.

Agenda :

1) A skit was shown highlighting the importance of love and cooperation amongst people of the world 2) To show how different countries of the world are the path of the same Earth. 3). Regional variation should not deter us from being one.

A skit on the Earth and the family was performed where Citizen of different countries like China, Nepal, Indian, Japan were brought together under one platform exhibiting the concept of brotherhood and oneness and joint responsibility for the Earth.

Qui was conducted.

Birthday celebration was held.

Best dressed students were appreciated.
