Mode Selection page

This is the main page after the system has been started.

No sources are selected when the system turns on.

No displays are turned on at this time.

Audio and microphones are unmuted.

At this point, you should select an operating mode.

Selecting presentation will set the room up to show local sources (PC, laptop, DVD etc) in the room.

Selecting Video Conference will set the room up for a video conference, connecting to a VTC unit in the

control room.

Auto/Manual mode applies only to presentation mode. When Auto mode is engaged, the PC is selected

as the source and it is automatically routed to all room displays. In manual mode, choice of source and

display is left entirely up to you, the room operator.

This page is shown when the PC source is selected.

In Auto Mode, the PC is the selected source, and it is sent to all displays. You may override the auto

mode selections at will.

In manual Mode, you must first select a source. Once a source has been selected, you need to nominate

which display(s) you wish to view it on.

If the nominated display is off when a source is selected, it will automatically turn on.

Presentation Mode –Laptop Selected

This page is shown when the laptop is selected. Most laptops require you to manually select their

external display port, as a power saving feature. Often this is the F8 key, but your laptop may differ. The

laptop can be plugged into the VGA cable in the lectern.

VTC Mode – Source Selection

This is the Main VTC page. It is the first page shown when you enter VTC mode. VTC mode automatically

assigns a video display configuration. This default configuration can be overridden via the “route video”

button but this should be done only by experienced personnel familiar with the video tie line system.

At the top of the screen there is a text bar that shows which VTC unit from the control room pool has

been assigned to this call. The actual codec number (one through four) is immaterial; however a codec

MUST be assigned for the call to work. If the message “No Codec Assigned” is shown, contact the

control room for a codec assignment.

This should

have a codec

number. If

not, contact

the control

room. Go to the VTC

VTC Mode – Video Routing

This page allows you to override the default display configuration for this call. It alters the routing of

incoming tie lines carrying the video and audio feeds from the codec in the control room.

As for a presentation, select a source (tie line), then a display to route the source to.

This is an advanced function best left to the control room operator.

System Functions - Help

This is the help call system.

When you push the HELP button, a help request is placed in queue in the control room and the

operators will answer you as they are able.

The help request popup can be removed without cancelling the call in order for you to continue your

lecture by pressing the red X in the top right corner of the help popup.

The call can be cancelled by pushing the HELP button again to bring up the help popup and selecting

“cancel”.

The operator will answer you via the room speakers. The operator picks up your voice via either the

lectern microphone or the built in touchpanel microphone.

Pushing this

will exit the

popup

window, but

will NOT

cancel the

help call!

This cancels

the help call.
