Goal 1: 85% of students at Bangor Central will become proficient in reading by 2023.

Strategy 1: Best Practice Instruction - Staff will develop a strong multi-tiered system of support for students identified as needing additional time and assistance to meet learning

standards in Reading. We will administer district reading assessments (BAS, NWEA), in order to identify students who will receive intervention as part of the 90

minute core reading instruction. We will use data to provide support and interventions. The core reading includes the continued implementation of Daily 5/Reading

Workshop, CAFE, and Guided Reading. Under the direction of the intervention specialist, at-risk and title one aides will continue to implement a variety of intervention

strategies to address accuracy, fluency and comprehension We will plan grade level meetings every 4 to 6 weeks for data review and align curriculum vertically and

horizontally. In addition, we will train teachers to use NWEA data. Category: Research Cited: Michigan Department of Education RESPONSE TO INTERVENTION: A MULTI-TIERED SYSTEM
