We acknowledge the Wiradjuri people and recognise the strength, resilience
and capacity of Aboriginal people in our community.
Dear parents, You will have noticed the new PBL signage on the wall of the Administration building, plus our school PBL mascot – the bee. Our Welfare and PBL committee are now reviewing our level and awards system to incorporate our PBL values of Respect, Responsibility and Care and Co-operation. We will keep you informed as we develop these new awards.
Sorry Day Ceremony I accompanied the school leaders to the Sorry Day Ceremony last Wednesday This was our school leaders first official function. They had the opportunity to speak with the Mayor, Councillor Rod Kendall, about the opportunities that being a leader provides you with. The ceremony included some moving talks by local indigenous people and also a performance by Maliyaa, our local indigenous dance group and we had the opportunity to watch Jayla M dancing with Maliyaa! We then enjoyed morning tea with the other guests.
School Contributions School Contributions for 2013 have been set and are now due. Contributions can be paid by sending cash or cheque in a sealed envelope with your child’s name, class and School Contribution written on the front to the school office or place it in the money collection box. The school contributions are: $30.00 (1 child) $50.00 (2 or more children) We ask families to support the school in paying their school contribution as they are vital in assisting the school purchase stationery and resources for the students. Please consider paying the contribution off over a term if the lump sum amount is difficult to pay. Please remember that our contributions equate to 15 cents a day for one child!
Helmets A number of students are riding bikes to and from school and not wearing a helmet. This is not acceptable. Parents and carers will be notified if this is the case and the bike will need to remain at school until the student brings a helmet to ride it home.
