PRINCIPAL WRITES
BELLBRIDGE CARNIVAL – Friday, March 18th
Are you getting excited about the Carnival?
It starts at 2:40pm and finishes at 6:00pm.
We look forward to seeing you there!
Please note: If you have pre-ordered LANYARDS, WRISTBANDS and/or SHOW BAGS,
they will be handed out to students in their classrooms between 1:40 – 2:40pm in readiness
for the Carnival.
HELPFUL HINTS for SCHOOL CARNIVAL
Here are a few helpful hints for parents and children to make the day a success.
Make sure your children know where you will pick them up at 2:40pm
Make sure all money is secured in a purse, wallet or bag as loose money is easily lost.
As it is a school day, children are required to be in full school uniform. Hundreds of people
will be at the Carnival and it is very important (for safety reasons) that we can recognise children
from Bellbridge Primary School.
WRISTBANDS for RIDES that have been purchased PRIOR to Friday will be given out by the
classroom teacher after 1:40pm on the day of the carnival.
Wristbands and single tickets FOR rides can be purchased on the day however wristbands
purchased on the day are more expensive ($40.00 for unlimited rides) than those purchased prior
to Friday, March 18th.
Beware of the parking officer. Wyndham City Council has already warned us that they will be
patrolling the area on the day of the Carnival and issuing infringement notices to any vehicle
parked illegally. Parking on school grounds IS NOT PERMITTED for anyone other than staff
and authorised vehicles.
For security and safety reasons we ask that children do not bring bikes to school on Friday.
Grand Prix Excursion
Selected students in Grade 4 / 5 are very fortunate to be attending the Grand Prix this Friday. This is a
very special, annual extra curricula activity organised by Mr Sisson. We appreciate his hard work in
planning such a special experience and would also like to thank all of the parent helpers who will be
attending and supervising a small group of students. These students will also be able to attend the School
Carnival when they return to school.
SCHOOL COUNCIL ELECTIONS
As a result of our recent Ballot for School Council Election, the following parents are now members of
the Bellbridge PS School Council: Sharon Davidge, Kerri Cahoon, Tanya Tesoriero, Petra Glare. They
will be joined by current councillors: Michelle Ripari, Ellisa Cole and Jantina De Haan.
Our staff representatives are: Helen Baldock, Vicki Murphy, Tania Hunt and Joan Hofmann.
TRAFFIC SAFETY – It’s everyone’s business!
The safety of students and parents on Matlock Street and Bellbridge Drive is a constant concern in our
community. In the past few weeks some complaints have been made to local authorities and parents are
reminded of the following ways to keep our children safe by:
Using the school crossing as an option for crossing the road (we now have THREE school
crossings!)
Obeying the parking signs around the school – do not park in disabled car parks unless you are
allowed
Not parking in the Bus Zone to pick up students
Not double parking near parked cars – this blocks traffic and can cause accidents
Not parking in, or walking through the staff car parks
We, as a school, cannot take any responsibility for parents who engage in unsafe and/or illegal use of the
roads, bus stop or school car parks. Please make good choices and help to keep our students safe.

Students raced to the best of their abilities with special mention to Roan Mallon and Hayden Bate for
winning their events and proceeding to the Western Metropolitan Region Swimming Championships on

high level of swimming and good luck to those proceeding to the next stage.
