The following criteria are re-quired.• Must be accepted into or en-

rolled full-time in an eligible IUPUI degree program

• Must be a citizen or perma-nent resident of the U.S

Acceptance as a CTI Scholar is competitive. The following criteria are preferred.• High school GPA 3.0 or higher

• SAT 530 math and 1080 com-bined reading/math OR ACT 21 math and 21 composite

• Complete Core 40 with grades of C or betterTo Apply...

The George W. Carver Teaching Initiative (CTI) is a scholarship and career development program dedicated to the recruitment, retention, and support of high-achieving, underrepresented minority youth in STEM (science, technol-ogy, engineering, and mathematics) teaching careers. This unique program is specifically designed to prepare pre-service teachers to serve urban students through culturally responsive and socially transfor-mative approaches to STEM education.

Becoming a CTI Scholar

The Carver Teaching Initiative has received support from the National Science Foundation, the IUPUI Office of the Vice Chancellor for Research, and the IUPUI School of Education.
