What is Scholarship (Schol)

• A Trinity Scholar is a student who has in the Scholarship examination shown excellent performance.

• It is a great honor to become a Trinity Scholar and will be of benefit to the student both within College and beyond.

• It is the mark of an excellent student which will elevate such students in future years when being considered for jobs etc.

• In other words it is an excellent CV item !

What do you get !

• Trinity Scholars receive the following– Free Commons (free meal – evening during term,

lunch outside term) – Free rooms for up to 9 months a year– Salary of €253.95 (historical!)– Fee remission (or remission equivalent to the EU fee

for non EU students)– See R1-R3 of the Calendar

• This lasts for five years of study– i.e. Commons, rooms and fee remission would

continue for 3 years of a research degree (PhD).
