XYTEC® FEATURES & BENEFITS

Spring loaded, sliding latches automati-cally lock hinged sidewalls and access doors. A gentle squeeze on the easy-to-grip autolock releases the mechanism.

FOOLPROOF AUTOLOCK CLIPS

Xytec containers feature beveled fork entries with most products including 4-way forklift and 2-way pallet jack access. All provide a minimum of 4-way forklift and 2-way pallet jack access for efficient and secure handling in tight warehouse spaces.

EASY FORKLIFT ACCESS

Schoeller Arca Systems’ patented interlock design strengthens corners for durability under rough handling.

INTERLOCKING CORNERS

The molded-in hinge design eliminates the need for metal or plastic hinge rods and other cumbersome and hard to replace mechanisms.

MOLDED-IN HINGES

Positive interlock ensures safe, self- supporting stacks of erected or collapsed containers in storage or in transport.

SECURE STACKING

The SC base features a unique two-part fully replaceable fork strap system that is interchangeable and can be replaced independently. This system significantly reduces maintenance costs, avoiding the need for replacing the entire base when damaged.

REPLACEABLE FORK STRAPS

Depending on the height, Xytec containers can save up to 60% of their original volume when collapsed. This feature reduces warehouse and storage requirements and allows cost-effective return shipping.

HIGH RETURN RATIO

The base of the Xytec container line is designed to efficiently transfer content weight to the corners thus allowing secure stacking of fully loaded containers. Optional vented base designs provide air ventilation and drainage.

HIGH-STRENGTH BASE

Standard, internationally accepted foot-prints and heights mean optimal cubing of truck trailers, rail cars and sea containers. Please see specifications for cubing quantities.

EFFICIENT CUBING

A flat head screwdriver is all you need to replace most parts of a Xytec container. Sidewalls can be easily retrofitted to different height and door configurations.

For easy access to contents, Xytec con-

ACCESS DOOR

In order to easily access bulk contents, Xytec 3230 and Xytec 4845 containers offer unique bulk door options for side discharge. Please contact Schoeller Arca Systems for details.

BULK DOOR

The Xytec 4845 with CI sidewalls offers the only container on the market with a removable panel option. For access to contents, all that is required is to slide the manual clips toward the center of the container and the side panel is effortlessly released.

REMOVABLE PANEL

To protect container contents, lids with banding strap notches are available for all Xytec containers. Optional banding slots are available on the sidewalls. Please con-tact Schoeller Arca Systems for details.

LID AND SIDEWALL BANDING

XYTEC® ID OPTIONS

Identification can be molded into the container for corporate identity and asset management. Schoeller Arca Systems can incorporate your camera-ready artwork, i.e., your company name or logo for quick identification.

MOLDED-IN LOGO

Container identification plaques may be ordered with logo, brand, work group, etc. and may include bar codes and/or sequen-tial numbering.

LOGO PLAQUE

Schoeller Arca Systems works closely with radio frequency identification (RFID) and bar coding solution providers and can offer bar coded logo plaques, RFID enabled label holder or place RFID chip(s) into the container.

RFID & BAR CODING

The document holder is made of clear plastic and provides an efficient means for storing container ID documentation. Document holders are available for placement inside the molded-in ID holders and can also be riveted to the access door or bulk door.

XYTEC® USAGE

1. Squeeze the autolock clips on the sidewall. Please note that models with bulk doors must have the door released prior to collapsing.

2. Push the sidewall into the container and allow it to drop inside. Repeat the same procedure for the opposing sidewall.

3. Fold the remaining sidewalls.

FOLDING THE XYTEC CONTAINER

1. To erect the container for use, grasp the top of the sidewall and bring it to an upright position.

2. Then grab the top of the opposite sidewall and bring it to the upright position.

3. Reach for the next sidewall and firmly snap it upright. The autolocks automatically engage and hold the sidewall in place. Repeat the same procedure to the remaining sidewall.

XYTEC® USAGE

• When moving containers, always set the forklift tines to the proper width and make sure they are completely through the fork entries but not protruding.

• Xytec containers can be stacked either erect or collapsed with the same footprint to save valuable storage and transport space.

• Xytec containers are designed with a positive base-to-bottom and base-to-sidewall interlock to ensure safe and secure stacking.

MOVING & STACKING THE XYTEC CONTAINER

1. To open the bulk door, release the manual clips on the bulk door by sliding them toward the center of the container.

2. Then squeeze the autolock clips and pull the bulk door outward. Lift the door up and secure it with the slam latch.

• To close the bulk door, release it from the slam latch and stow the latch. Lower the bulk door in place, squeeze the autolocks until they are engaged and close the manual clips.

OPENING AND CLOSING THE BULK DOOR

1. To open the access door, squeeze the autolocks.

2. Pull the access door toward you and hold it as it swings until it is flush with the container.

• To close the access door, raise the door until the autolocks securely latch. You may also close the access door by squeezing the autolocks and ensuring that the latches are fully engaged.

The Xytec 3230 series is the industry leader in

small footprint bulk containers. It incorporates

durable sidewalls and a high-strength base with

4-way forklift access for secure and ef ficient

handling in tight warehouse space. With its com-

pact size and generous load capacity, the Xytec

3230 container is ideal for small work areas. It

is the pre-eminent choice of material handling

professionals for storing and handling a variety

of small par ts, resins, dry powders and other

materials. The Xytec 3230 is available in 17”,

25” and 34” heights and comes with a wide vari-

ety of configurations.

HC323017The newest member of the Xytec 3230

family, the HC323017 is uniquely

designed to ef ficiently deliver small

par ts and dense components to line

operations. Heavy par ts can now be

easily moved with a forklift or pallet jack,

XYTEC®

HighWallTM

LEDGESTo ensure a long useful life, Xytec HighWall

containers have ledges on the 45” sidewall

extensions. The ledges are designed to sup-

port the sidewalls when collapsed and prevent

them from hanging vertically from the container

for ease of use. When designing dunnage to be

used with Xytec HighWall containers, ledge posi-

tions must be taken into consideration. Ledges

are required on 39", 41", 55", 57", 64" and

66" HighWall containers. Containers can be

ordered without ledges, however support dun-

nage is required for collapsed shipment.

WHAT IS A HIGHWALL?A Xytec HighWall is constructed by adding an

extension set to standard 25” or 34” high

CI4845 or SC4845. For example, the picture

The Xytec Extended Length container is created by a

thermal bonding process. This process enables Schoeller

Arca Systems to provide collapsible containers in a

variety of lengths and heights. All features available

on other Xytec models can be provided with an EL con-

tainer. With so much to choose from, you can specify

a container that will fit and adapt to your individual

material handling needs. The versatility of the EL contain-

er makes it a valuable member of the Xytec family. This

extended length option offers a return ratio of up to 3:1

and is available in standard colors of grey and black.

Combo containers can be easily and quickly collapsed when empty for space-saving storage and distribution.

COLLAPSIBLE

Flat, smooth surfaces and rounded corners ensure the highest level of hygiene. Combo containers are easy to wash and are manufactured of FDA approved materials. All contact surfaces are plastic for ease of cleaning and maintenance.

HYGIENIC DESIGN

Combo containers feature a forklift compatible base that allows efficient and secure handling from all four sides. No banding or tools are required for normal use of a Combo.

EASY HANDLING

Combo containers have large areas for labeling and offer a number of identifica-tion options including serial numbers, bar code markings and a wide variety of RFID options.

EFFICIENT IDENTIFICATION

Stacking ridges ensure the lid and base interlock when stacked and collapsed, allowing a safe, self-supporting column in storage and distribution. Please contact a Schoeller Arca Systems representative for safe stacking heights.

SAFE STACKING

Tamper evident seals may be used with the Combo family. Seals can be placed on the lid and on discharge openings.

TAMPER EVIDENCE

Integrated hand grips on the lid make it easy to remove and place the cover on the container.

All parts of the container are replaceable using an ordinary screwdriver.

EASY MAINTENANCE

Ergonomic sidewall hand grips make it easy to grasp a sidewall and quickly erect a folded container.

SIDEWALL HAND GRIPS

Combo Intermediate Bulk Containers are

molded of food grade plastic and have completely

smooth surfaces to satisfy the strictest hygienic

standards. They are collapsible, reusable, clean

and cost effective throughout the entire handling

process. Available in five sizes: 65 gallons, 270

gallons, 285 gallons, 300 gallons and 315 gal-

lons, Combo Intermediate Bulk Containers can

handle different fluids under varying conditions.

Combo can also be used for dry products such as

powders, granulate and flakes.

CL65The CL65 is a compact collapsible

intermediate bulk container designed

to handle a wide variety of fluids. A

clear level indicator is provided and an

optional drain hole in the base allows

the liquids to drain. The CL65 lid is

available with an optional tamper evident

fill/discharge opening.

Positive interlock allows for self-supporting stacks of Big Box containers, with or without lids. Not only does this guarantee more space in your warehouse, but it also ensures a neat and efficient storage system.

STACKABILITY

Big Box containers can be easily cleaned. They are resistant to extremes of water and sunlight.

For durability under rough handling, each corner on the Big Box is reinforced along its entire length. The inner surface is smooth for strength and ease of cleaning. The Big Box differentiates itself from other containers with its seamless corner design and no sharp angles to trap dirt or debris.

Molded of FDA approved material, Big Box containers are a natural for agriculture and food processing applications. You can rest assured that your products will be safe and sanitary.

FDA APPROVEDREINFORCED CORNERS

Rugged structural-foam lids further protect the contents of Big Box containers. A lid with an optional O-ring seal provides a watertight cover for the Big Box. Big Box lids are available in snap-lock and dust-cover styles.

DURABLE SIDEWALL

The Big Box PC4844 container features 4-way forklift entry and is compatible with domestic pallet jacks. The smaller Big Box PC4229 container has 2-way entry on the 42" sides for a forklift or domestic pallet jack.

EASY FORKLIFT ENTRANCE

For smooth, rapid handling with pallet jacks, there are beveled fork straps on the 48" sides of the Big Box container, which also allows ease of travel on roller conveyors.

The Schoeller Arca ShipSafe was designed to work

in automated warehouse systems for retailers and

large department stores. In addition, the ShipSafe

has found a home in a variety of industrial and

agricultural applications.

COLLAPSIBLE TOTE WITH OPTIONAL LID

The ShipSafe base features runners in appropriate positions for conveying. The concave base allows uniform load distribution without bottom distortion.

CONVEYABLE BASE

The ergonomic lifting points on the rim make it easy to handle the ShipSafe manually.

ERGONOMIC LIFTING POINTS

The ShipSafe sidewalls fold on the long side and swing into place on the short side. This provides maximum wall strength when vertical and gives a return ratio of 4:1.

FOLDABLE SIDEWALLS

The top rim was designed in coordination with an interlocking lid that can be secured. Lids may be stacked interleaved or sepa-rately for empty shipment.

INTERLOCKING LID

In order to meet fire codes and to accom-modate water flow, the sprinkler vents on the ShipSafe are uniquely designed for water movement in and out of the tote. The area around the vents is shaped to keep the contents from hindering water movement and is reinforced to add stack strength.

SIDEWALL VENTS

The lid design allows for a single tamper evident device in either direction. The tamper evident seal is easily snapped into place.

Stack & Nest

One-piece molded of durable, high perfor-mance polypropylene (PP), Stack & Nest totes resist the damaging effects of oils, solvents and caustic solutions. They will not rust, rot or erode even after years of reuse.

DURABLE CONSTRUCTION

Stack & Nest totes can be stacked securely with or without lids up to nine high for efficient space usage. They can be nested when empty.

POSITIVE STACKING

Stack & Nest totes are molded of FDA approved polypropylene (PP). They are safe for use in all types of food handling applications.

FDA APPROVED

The ergonomic hand grips are comfortable when handling, carrying and lifting the totes.

BUILT-IN HAND GRIPS

The smooth surface is easy to clean to ensure a sanitary container for repeat use. There are no burrs, splinters or sharp edges.

SMOOTH SURFACE

Vented base and sidewalls are available for proper air circulation and quick cooling of produce in the container.

Hand-Held Totes


Picker pails, buckets and lugs are one-piece, molded

of sanitary high density polyethylene (HDPE) plastic for

lasting durability and years of reuse. This line includes

quart picker pails and buckets as well as cross stack

and flat bottom lugs.

Lugs & Pails

Smooth, rounded inside corners add extra protection for produce against bruising and damage. Lugs come in two versions: cross stack and flat bottom. All-purpose lugs are USDA approved for use with all types of food handling applications including meat and poultry. Optional lids are available.

ALL-PURPOSE LUGS

Molded of FDA compliant material, the interior measurement markings on the picker pail takes the guess work out of gauging quantity of produce. The plastic material minimizes fruit spoilage after picking. Optional fabric harnesses are available.

PICKER PAILS

Molded of FDA compliant material, buckets are designed for ease of hand dumping. Optional handles are available.

BUCKETS

For ease of hand dumping, all picker pails and buckets feature a recessed bottom.

RECESSED BOTTOM

The smooth surface is easy to clean to ensure a sanitary container for repeat use. There are no burrs, splinters or sharp edges.

COMPANY HISTORY

Schoeller Arca Systems is the result of a merger of Schoeller Wavin Systems and Arca Systems. These two companies joined forces in early 2005. Both have a long history behind them.• Schoeller Wavin Systems was established after a merger in 1999 of the German/Swiss Schoeller Plast Group and the Dutch Wavin Trepak group. Both with over 40 years experience in innovative plastic packaging for logistics and product branding.• Arca Systems was a division of the Perstorp AB Group, a company previously quoted on the Stockholm stock exchange.

The U.S. company is Schoeller Arca Systems, Inc., manufacturing Xytec®, Gemini, ComboTM, ShipSafeTM and other industry leading material handling and fluid handling packages.

SCHOELLER ARCA SYSTEMS IS FULLY COMMITTED TO PROTECTING OUR GLOBAL ENVIRONMENT BY PRODUCING ONLY 100% RECYCLABLE PRODUCTS.

We use polyethylene and polypropylene, created from crude oil and natural gas. These compounds allow us to use their plastic properties while preserving the fuel hidden within.

Our plastics can be used and reused for many years (easily fifty or more) taking on many forms and doing many jobs before finally surrendering their useful properties as a plastic. We have thousands of containers that have been on the job for more than sixteen years. These containers won’t be ready for their first recycle for many years to come.

The products we make today will serve our material handling needs through the middle of the next century. Future gen-erations can then use that same material for fuel leaving behind only water vapor and carbon dioxide.

We support the growing environmental awareness within the global community and we support new legislation to increase recycling and reuse of our resources.

We also encourage product development that combines traditional elements such as fiber with plastics, in order to forward conservation and the conversion to more environ-mentally friendly systems worldwide.
