    Credit facilities available for

    Women Entrepreneurs Small Business : For entrepreneurs who intend to provide service (not a

    professional service) such as setting up a small lunch/canteen, library etc.

    Professional and Self Employed : Entrepreneurs who are speciallyqualified/skilled and experienced like Chartered Accountants, Engineers ortrained in Art or Craft etc.

    Retail Trade : For entrepreneurs who intend to engage in retail trading of

    various commodities.

    Village and Cottage/Tiny Industries : For entrepreneurs who are engaged inmanufacturing, processing, preservation and services such as handloom,weaving, handicraft, food-processing, garment making etc. In village and small

    towns with a population not exceeding 50,000 utilizing locally availableresources/skills.

    Small Scale Industries : To start a unit engaged in manufacture, processing orpreservation of goods.

    Agriculture & Allied Activities : For women entrepreneurs who areengaged/intend to engage in agricultural and allied activities, such as raising ofcrops, f loriculture, fisheries, bee-keeping, nursery, sericulture etc. and alsotrading in agricultural inputs

    Government Sponsored Programmes : Apart from the above schemes, womenentrepreneurs are also financed under the various Government SponsoredProgrammes where Capital subsidies are available.

    Special incentives, tax rebates, duty cuts and subsidized land and machinery isprovided to encourage women in emerging sectors.

    Special recognitions and award instituted for women participating in targeted

    industries.

    The government of India launched a scheme called TradeRelated Entrepreneurship Assistance and DevelopmentScheme for Women (TREAD)

    Credit

    Credit to Projects - Government Grant up to 30% of the total project cost asappraised by lending institutions which would finance the remaining 70% asloan Assistance to applicant women, who have no easy access to credit frombanks

    Training organizations viz. Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs),Entrepreneurship Development Institutes (EDIs), and the NGOs conducting

    Eliciting Information on Related Needs-Institutions such as Entrepreneurship Development Institutes (EDIs),NIESBUD, EDIs sponsored by State Govt. undertake activities aiming atempowerment of women such as field surveys, research studies, evaluationstudies, designing of training modules, etc.
