Welcome to the inaugural ISU Learning Connections Summit!

Greetings! We are pleased to offer the Indiana State University community the first annual Learning Connections Summit! As a participant, we hope you will take advantage of programming that targets teaching, assessing, and learning on our campus. In this unique format, we have intentionally developed a schedule that integrates teaching and assessing rather than presenting them as separate, unrelated activities. It is time that we talk about the rich opportunity offered for learning that occurs when we blend the teaching and assessing together. Attend sessions, join conversations, and discuss with colleagues to find ways to make learning connections that enhance and energize your practice and our students' learning.

Session Types

Thanking Our Sponsors

The Learning Connections Summit features an attend-as-you're-able format. You will find a variety of session types on different days and times to flex with your schedule. Descriptions of the session types are below. Poster Presentations: Presenters share their topics in a visual format and be on hand to discuss with attendees. Attendees can walk through at their own pace. Conversation Carousels: Moderators will lead small group conversations on specific topics round-robin style, and attendees will have the chance to switch to discuss a variety of topics during the allotted time. Panels: Panelists will use a semi-structured approach to present on a specific topic, while leaving plenty of open time for attendee questions and discussion. ISU Talks: These high-impact, 15-minute talks are modeled after TED talks. They will occur back-to-back, and attendees can come and go between sessions. Traditional Lectures : Presenters will share their topics in 50-minute sessions. More than one session will be offered at a time. Case Study Competition: Teams from each college will face off to see who creates the best response to a challenging case study about teaching. Each team will have limited time to present their response developed over the course of the week. Expert judges will weigh in, and the audience will also get a vote to determine who wins and receives the traveling trophy.
