film, by Sisters of the MedicalMissionary Sisters of Mary coveringtheir work in Nigeria, Africa. They

explained “although their work ismainly in establishing hospitals anddispensaries, along with caring for

maternity cases, noone is forgotten,least of all the mistreated, outcast

leper. Now. that sulfa drugs arrest

leper cases and the ever increasingearly ‘diagnosis, more.and more

cases live useful lives. Many returnto their families and homes after

initial treatment period at the lepercolony.

In addition:to nurses, the MedicalMissionary Sisters of Mary havedoctors, sociologists and medical

technicians in their com:runity.Their’ mother house is in Ireland.

A young .organization, establishedin the mid-1930’s, their numbersare still few but their accomplish-ments many.

Sister Theresa, with her pleasantIrish brogue,was a delightful speaker

Civic Assoc, of Hicksville on Saturday, Dec. 20 at the Burns Ave, School,

feature entertainment by the National Award winning all-accordian-

nior Symphony Band of the Music Box Accordian Institute. Their se-

lections will include a group of Christmas songs, and they will play the

arrangement ‘‘Variations of a Familiar Sea Chanty’’ which, by their

outstanding performance, won for them First Prize in the Intermediate

Group at the American Accordian Association’s National ChampionshipContest held in New York, Nov. 23. Contest too0 place in the - New York

high school, the Recreation Office

ketball game are being featured in
