SC Duplex Connectors and Adapters

The SC Duplex Connection System has been designed to maintain fiberoptic cabling polarity in the telecommunication and datacommunication networks.

The connector system combines two, widely accepted, NTT-SCstandard connectors in a common duplex housing. This housing, whilemaintaining polarity of the cable, provides smooth insertion andremoval of the connector pairs. By using the Molex SC connectors,economic benefits of the easy to assemble one-piece connector bodyand the reliability of a Bellcore and IEC tested connector design can berealized in a duplex configuration.

To support the use of optical fiber as a cabling media in the network,especially in the horizontal premises applications, Molex offers avariety of duplex adapters. The SC to SC combination, available inflange mount or snap mount versions, supports the EIA/TIA commercialbuilding telecommunication wiring standards and the SC to ST, alsoavailable in the flange or snap mount versions, supports the migrationto these standards. These adapters are now available with a snap-onshutter assembly which provides a barrier against laser exposure anddust contamination. All adapter styles are available with either thezirconia ceramic or phosphor bronze sleeves.Features & Benefits
