Letter From the CEO

Dear Heathcare Customer,as much as possible, and make their

hospital stay more affordable and

manageable. The Advocates' limitless

efforts include negotiating substantial

discounts and easy payment plans

with hospitals, as well as searching

for additional financial assistance

programs. Our PAC Advocates have

in many cases completely dismissed

the entire hospital bills for our

members, saving them tens and

hundreds of thousands of dollars.

Dr. Michael Rabie, CEO

We invite you to find out for yourself and enjoy the savings our PAC Program can bring you by substantially lowering your out-of-pocket hospital and medical expenses.

Thank you for your continued trust,

I am pleased to report that Family

Care has a full- staffed Hospital

Patient Advocacy Center (PAC) of

dedicated and capable Advocates,

with over 20 years of cumulative

experience dealing with hospitals

nationwide. The PAC Advocates

will make every effort to lower our

members' hospital and medical bills

Less Stress and Out of Pocket

Costs: Greater

The Family Care Hospital Patient

Advocacy program (PAC) works on

behalf of members and their loved ones

by lowering their out-of-pocket expenses

on hospital and medical bills. Whereas

the Family Care PAC program is designed

to primarily help uninsured people, it

applies equally to people who are covered

by medical insurance, including those

on Medicare.

All medical insurance plans involve both—

a • deductible that has to be met by

the individual or family before the plan

starts paying towards their hospital and

medical bills, and

a • co-insurance rate such as 60/40,

70/30, 80/20, 90/10, which means the

patient typically pays 10-40% of their

hospital and medical bills.

Therefore, there will always be an out-of-

pocket cost that the patient has to reckon

with, and this is where the Family Care PAC

program can come in handily to provide

the needed help, as shown in the various

actual examples discussed in this book.

PAC Fights For You!

Our PAC Advocates bring to you

over 20 years of cumulative

experience dealing with hospitals

nationwide. So, in the event of a

major illness, you can count on PAC

to help you every step of the way,

from planing to billing; you get the

service and savings you deserve.

Page 8: Savings Guide

pg.6

PAC passionately trains and dedicates its staff of Advocates to

putting the patient first through communicating between hospitals

and members. Combining this passion with a non-adversial and

professional approach, the PAC team of Advocates works to

enhance long-term partnerships with the hospitals for the benefit

of our members.

The Hospital Patient Advocacy Center will

make every effort to lower our members'

bills, and when necessary, identify special

programs available to assist our members

with their hospital and medical expenses

and obtain the best possible discount.

As mentioned above, the Family care

Hospital Patient Advocacy program is

designed and used primarily to advocate on

behalf and help the uninsured population

in America, who typically are low-income

people. Outrageously, those low-income

uninsured people, being not “represented

and protected” by Managed Care or

Medicare, end up being dramatically and

grossly overcharged by hospitals. In some

cases they are being charged by hospitals

several times (3 times is not uncommon)

more than insured people would pay,

according to The Council For Affordable

Health Insurance in Alexandria, VA.

Unfortunately, that is not all though; to

add insult to injury, some hospitals even

aggressively try to collect those inflated bills.

Family Care and its PAC program hold the

strong and firm belief that a patient should

not be subjected to the additional stress

and anxiety of battling over the financial

terms of his or her healthcare services.

Accordingly, PAC will go to work by

negotiating with hospitals on behalf of the

patient for the best possible discount.

The success track record of the PAC program

is strong. Time after time members have

called in praising the PAC team and thanking

them for their persistence and hard work. The

following are examples of such testimonials

proving once more that our Advocates'

passion really does make all the difference.

Our PAC Advocates worked diligently on this case with both the hospital and its affi liated fi nancial assistance programs, and were able four months later to have the entire bill completely written off.

A Family Care member in California, suffering from a terminal

illness, was admitted to the ICU for over two months until his

unfortunate death. His wife was left with a $647,904.62 hospital

bill pushing her very close to fi ling for bankruptcy. Our PAC

Advocates worked diligently on this case with both the hospital and its

affi liated fi nancial assistance programs, and were able four months

later to have the entire bill completely written off. The surviving

wife had to pay nothing, and was saved from what would have been

otherwise a life- devastating fi nancial disaster.

I write this letter to thank you for the savings I got through the help of

your PAC specialists. You have no idea how much you helped me

by taking so much money out of my $4,891.75 bills, that even

with the $ 978.35 balance I’m still paying, I just pay $10.00 a month

and that is all I can afford. Imagine what it would have been if I had

to pay the whole amount of $4,891.75. So, thank you once again from

he bottom of my heart and God bless all of you. I pray everyday for

people like you and my prayers have been answered.

A Family Care member in Texas had to have a reconstructive surgery

on his shoulder after being involved in a motorcycle accident. His

Family Care $2,000 Accidental Injury Protection group insurance

benefi t paid $1,900* towards his $8,000 medical bill, and the Family

Care PAC Advocates negotiated with the Orthopedic Surgery Center

a 100% reduction on the $6,000 remaining balance.

The member had to pay only the $100 deductible of the Accidental Injury Protection bene t.*

The following Discount Success Letters show the power of the

PAC program, as well as the lengths our PAC Advocates go to,

to ease the fi nancial burdens of our members. The dedication

and willingness of these Advocates are key factors in the way

we conduct our business.
