Join us in June at Michigan State University to

learn strategies to address food security through

community coaching as part of the Voices for

Food (VFF) Project.

VFF recently concluded a six-year study using SNAP-Ed Educators and

Paraprofessionals as community coaches to improve food security in

rural, highly impoverished communities. As a result, the VFF team has

compiled best practices for community coaches that are engaging in

policies, systems, and environmental (PSE) change work in food pantries

and with food policy councils. The VFF team is poised to release this

model of community coaching and the accompanying evidence-based

VFF Food Council Guide and the VFF Food Pantry Toolkit for use.

Conference learning objectives:

Participants will learn how nutrition educators/instructors can

implement the evidence-based VFF strategies in order to meet the

SNAP-Ed Guidance on PSE work.

Participants will learn how to use VFF materials through hands-on

learning environments.

Participants will learn about how the project staff of Voices for Food

overcame challenges and optimized opportunities during the

MSU is an affirmative-action, equal-opportunity employer.
