The Search Is On!!
After serving for eight years as Pardee Hospital Foundation’s
Executive Director, Kim Hinkelman has retired – effective at the
end of 2019.
In December, the hospital hired Capital Development Services
(CapDev) to conduct a search to find Kim’s replacement. A
search committee has been formed and preliminary work has
been done to start the hiring process.
In approximately a week, the job posting will be available via
several appropriate channels throughout the country.
A cross section of our staff, donors, volunteers and community
partners will receive a survey asking them to suggest the key
attributes they think our new executive director should have.
To those who receive the survey, we appreciate your responses
to assist us in effectively evaluating potential candidates.
Candidate screening will continue into March. It is our hope that
several qualified candidates will be chosen to be interviewed in
late March, with finalists coming to Hendersonville for an onsite
visit during April.
The posting will be on the Foundation’s website –
www.pardeehospitalfoundation.org. It will include information
you can share with anyone who might be interested
in applying for the position.
We will keep you up to date on the search progress via this
newsletter.

Give Generously
Pardee Choice is the Annual Employee Giving Campaign for Pardee team members. Employees make
pledges to donate to United Way and/or the Pardee Foundation.
More than 300 Pardee team members raised nearly $50,000
through the campaign held in November 2019!
Additionally, new employees can participate as they join Pardee throughout 2020.
A fun raffle was held for a preferred covered parking place to raise additional funds. (Please see
related parking place raffle story).
United Way of Henderson County helps fund 39 programs at 19 local health and human services
agencies, serving over 30,000 Henderson County residents. United Way of Henderson County’s ten
year plan focuses on Kindergarten Readiness, School Success, Financial Stability, Affordable Housing,
Reducing Obesity and Encouraging Healthy Youth Behaviors.
Pardee Hospital is a not-for-profit locally supported hospital. Known to many as the county hospital,
Pardee does not receive funding from the county or from tax revenue. With its affiliation with UNC
Health Care, Pardee receives the benefit of advanced technologies and medical science, but does not
receive any funding from the system.
In 2019, gifts helped fund numerous projects at Pardee including:
Concussion monitoring helmets for area high school football teams monitored by Pardee’s Sports
Medicine Team.
Portable Cardiosave IABP – intra-aortic balloon pump to help pump blood from a heart too weak
or damaged to pump blood itself.
MALDI-TOF Bacterial Byotyper for bacterial identification 24-48 hrs. faster in Pardee’s laboratory.
CortexFlo photographic exam system and training for SANE program – Sexual Assault Nurse
Examiners in our PATHS unit.
Vein illuminators for medical and surgical units for locating veins to improve patient comfort.
And so much more!
Thank you to the Pardee Choice committee and Pardee team members for making a positive impact on
Pardee Hospital Foundation and United Way, and for supporting those in our community who are
helped with these gifts.
Pardee Hospital Foundation January 2020
Consider making a gift in your Valentine’s name
to the Pardee Hospital Foundation. A lovely
acknowledgement card will be sent to the
honoree showing how much you care through
your generosity and your support for Pardee
Hospital.
You can designate a hospital department, a
specific doctor, nurse, therapist or team member.
A letter indicating that a gift has been made in the
name of your loved one will be sent to the area or
person you’ve designated.
February is “Heart Month.”
A gift directed to Cardiac Services
would be an ideal Valentine’s gift.
All gifts help bring the latest equipment, most
qualified staff and the newest innovations to your
community hospital. 100% of your gift goes
directly to health care as the Foundation is a
501c3, non-profit organization.
You can mail a check to the Foundation office,
call with a credit card payment or visit our
website and choose “Donations” on the home
page.
A gift from the heart to your favorite Valentine.
What a thoughtful way to show how much you
care!
