Sweet Home, Catholic for a Reason
Presenting “The Riches of Our Catholic Faith” What better time than now to explore the many riches of Catholic life? Whether we are just beginning our spiritual journey or have been walking with the Lord for years there is so much to discover and so many ways to deepen our faith. We are all unfinished Christians in the process of continuously rediscovering the profound mystery: that Jesus Christ rose from the dead and opened the gates of heaven so that all men would have eternal life with Him. This Easter season, let this reality take root in your heart and allow it to make your Catholic faith come alive! REGISTRATION & DETAILS: stpaulcenter.com/simivalley

“Helping Build Up the Domestic Church”
The term “Domestic Church” refers to the family, the smallest body of gathered
believers in Christ. The Greek word ecclesiola referred to “little church.” Our Early Church Fathers understood that the home is the best place to learn how to practice discipleship, sanctification, and holiness. Are you and your family saints in training in your own “little church”? Your answer should be YES! Visit the Office of Faith Formation for more information on training to be saints!
“What does it take to become a saint? Will it.” Saint Thomas Aquinas

CATHOLIC FAITH FACTS Do you ever wonder why we believe the things we believe in as Catholics? Are you tired of being asked questions about your Catholic faith from loved ones, friends or co-workers - and NOT being able to give an answer? If this sounds like you – please consider joining the Catholic Faith Facts Apologetics Course here at St. Rose of Lima. You will learn how to give Biblical answers for your faith as well as the corresponding references from the Catechism. You will gain a clearer understanding about subjects like the Mass, defending Marian doctrines, the Eucharist, Purgatory, Confession, statues and images, praying to the saints, and many more. Join us on Wednesdays in room 9 of the school at 7:00pm. Bring a family member or a friend with you who may have questions about a particular topic we are discussing. As the Body of Chr ist, our Catholic faith is a family journey – so don’t try to walk it alone and uninformed! Call Sandy Lemos at 805 915-4621 or visit our page on the Parish website to see the topics covered in previous classes: https://strosesv.com/cff-apologetics-class
James: Pearls for Wise Living James is one of the most practical books of the Bible. Its teachings speak loudly to those who feel torn between the competing demands of
this world and their faith. This study offers “pearls for wise living” by applying the wisdom of James to our current day. For anyone who has struggled to live a truly Christian life, James offers a wealth of
practical solutions for handling and even sanc-tifying everyday circumstances.
Join us for James: Pearls for Wise Living here at St. Rose of Lima
School in room 8 beginning Thursday, April 25th at 7:00pm and continuing through
Thursday, July 11th. For more information or to register for the study, call

R.C.I.A. Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults
Becoming Catholic Happy Easter Season.
At the Easter Vigil Service on Holy Saturday Evening, we witnessed the Full Initiation into the Catholic Church of those who have made a Journey of Faith over the last several months and were welcomed into our Catholic Community. Inquiry sessions are in progress and we invite anyone who is unbaptized, baptized in another faith denomination or in need of both the Sacraments of Holy Eucharist and Confirmation, to join us on a Journey of Faith in the R.C.I.A. Process. We know many of you come to Mass with your families and are hesitant to take that first step. Our St. Rose of Lima R.C.I.A Team provides a welcoming environment where the Teachings of the Church are presented and your questions answered. We bring you on a Faith Journey with the Catholic Church; its beliefs, traditions, history and worship. There is no obligation in the early phase of the Process. For more information, please call the Faith Formation office at 526-5513.
Perpetual Adoration is an angelic service, an act of profound faith and fervent love toward the Most Holy Eucharist. It draws priceless blessings on mankind for time and eternity. It is a special satisfaction to the Divine Heart of Jesus, a great comfort to th Church Suffering in Purgatory, a source of strength to the Church Militant on earth, and a cause of joy to the Church Triumphant in Heaven. Those, indeed, perform a most God-pleasing work who by their charitable contributions make it possible for Perpetual

Gracious and Loving God, Help these young men and women to be a light for all the world to see, in all the places they live and work.
Let their light shine for all peoples: for their families,
for their church communities, for their cultures and societies, for the economic and political systems, for the whole world.
Coming into the room where the disciples were gathered after
the resurrection, Jesus, said:
“Peace be with you!” (Jn 20:21).
Make these men and women bearers of Christ's peace.
" Blessed are the peacemakers, teach them the meaning of what was said on the mountain: for they shall be called sons and
daughters of God" (cf. Mt 5:9). Send them, Father,
as you sent your son: to free their brothers and sisters
from fear and sin. We ask this of you, in Christ's name. Amen.

MOTHER’S DAY NOVENA CARDS
The Faith Direct program gives you: • A convenient and consistent way to support St. Rose of Lima by electing to use direct debit from your bank or credit card account. • The opportunity to support our parish even if you are absent from Mass for travel or illness. •A solution to a situation I know many families face on their way to Mass: where did I put my envelopes? • How does it work? • You can visit faithdirect.net and enroll securely online • For those of you who would like assistance please call Tony Gammariello at 805 915-4614. • You can elect to have your specified bank or credit card account debited on the 4th & 15th of the month for both offertory and any second collections you support. A few other considerations: • As a parish, we can collectively go “green” by eliminating the
many wasteful envelopes that go unused. There is no charge to parishioners for enrolling. In fact, every family signing up with Faith Direct means one less package of envelopes to print and mail out – and that will mean savings for our parish family. a “win-win” program for both parishioners and our parish. I strongly encourage you to enroll in this program today: I have complete confidence in this program’s security. I am grateful for your financial and prayerful support of our parish.
DID YOU KNOW? “If you see something, say something” We see this warning in airports and schools, but experts say it’s also a great way for parents to think about Internet safety for their children. One of the best ways to protect children using the Internet is to actually engage with them in what they’re doing: Play the games they plan, check out their profile pages with them. Discuss online respect and rules for what can and cannot be shared. Regular conversation and monitoring helps keep children safe online. For more information, read the article by Catholic News Service,“Vigilance by parents and their children called key to safe internet use”.
