Intellectual and Complex Learning Disabilities " Disability is the loss or limitation of opportunities to take part in a normal life in the community, to be on an equal level with others and this is due to physical or social barriers . " ( Barnes 1994: 2) GENERAL CHARACTERISTICS:

Have limitations in intellectual functioning co-occurring with a range of learning difficulties. Both strengths and weaknesses are usually present in conceptual, social, and practical areas.

Have general intellectual functioning in the below average range

Have learning difficulties that have significantly affected school performance, including a high probability of difficulty with a regular college curriculum

Have the ability to emotionally adjust and physically participate in all program activitiesRecorded diagnoses in one or more of a variety of categories:

Learning Disabilities

Autism

High Functioning Autism

Aspergers Syndrome Physical Disabilities

Social/Emotional/Behavioral Disorders Education ??? Education is one of the most effective tools by which Children with special needs could achieve the social and economic empowerment. Education holds importance for Children with Speical Needs as they have been a subject of discrimination for a long period of time.It is crusical for developing their potential, self-confidence, self-reliance and making them career oriented. (Chaudhuri, 2012)

Teachers in Classroom should have ability to :problem-solvetake advantage of childrens individual interests and use their internal motivation for developing required skillsset high but alternative expectations that are suitable for the sutdent i.e. developing alternative assessmentmake appropriate expectations for each students regardless of the students capabilities (if teacher can do this it allows all students to be included in a class and school)learn how to value all kinds of skills that students bring to a class, not just the academic skills.consult with and develop partnerships with parrents / caregivers and colleaguesuse sppropriate forms of assesmentsadapt their instruction to the prior knoweledge and beliefs of studentscreate an inclusive community that extends beyond the wallsseek to enhance the self-esteem of all students

Rights of disabled persons is governed by Law no. 448/2006 on the protection and promotion of the rights of persons with disabilities , republished. Persons with disabilities have free and equal access to any form of education , regardless of age , according to the type, degree of disability and their educational needs . Persons with disabilities to ensure their continuing education and training throughout their entire life . The disabled person or, where appropriate , family or legal representative is the main decision maker in choosing the form and type of training, as well as the school.

Romania, a country in which there are new changes

individual integration in mass educational units , including units in the languages of national minorities ; groups or special classes compact integrated preschool and school meal ; educational services through itinerant teachers / support ; home school until graduation from high school , but not later than the age of 26, the care of the Ministry of Education , Research and Youth and Sports; education " in his hospital bed ," during hospitalization ; educational alternatives . Education of people with disabilities Education of disabled people (from Romania) is achieved through special education units :

World Vision Romania has helped over 2,000 children with disabilities and their parents . Through early intervention projects disabled child was facilitated access to quality intervention services provided by the organization professionals (psychologists , speech therapists , physiotherapists , social workers , etc.). Individual counseling sessions and group therapy sessions and group meetings type support for parents of children with disabilities have contributed to the success of recovery or rehabilitation of children with disabilities and thereby increased chances of integration of children in public schools .

Motivation was established in 1995 and since then it has been providing support to children and youth with disabilities in Romania.This programs focus on social, educational and professional inclusion throughconsultancy for accessibility, by facilitating employment of people with disabilities, through day center services or leisure activities such as adapted sports or cultural events.

Romanian association Special Olympics Romania Foundation was established in November 2003 as part of the International Special Olympics sports movement . This organization contributes to social inclusion of people with intellectual disabilities , giving them the opportunity to discover and develop their potential and skills through sports training programs and competitive events organized throughout the year . Thus, our athletes have the opportunity to become active members of the family and community to which they belong . Special Olympics is an experience that instills energy, health , self-confidence and joy of living .

Objectives:

- Development of integrated educational therapy "second chance " for people with disabilities out of school / dropped out of school early ;

-development remedial education services for children and youth with disabilities attending school in order to prevent the phenomenon of early school leaving ;

-development of a training program and exchange for professionals involved in the project ;

-development of public / private partnerships at local level to promote an education flexible and customized to persons with disabilities and finding solutions to stimulate involvement in community life and employment of persons with disabilities ;
