Sh. Satya Prakash N~gi has joined Himalayan Forest Research Institute (HFR);Shimla on 01.08.2016.
Native of Kinnaur district in Himachal Pradesh, Sh. Negi is a Forestry 'graduateand is a 1998-batch of Indian Forest Service (IFS) officer of Jharkhand cadre.
Sh.Negi has served in the Government of India as well as Government ofJharkhand in various capacities.
In the Government of India, he has served as Deputy Director in Forest Survey ofIndia's northern zonal office at Shimla, Himachal Pradesh.
In the Government of Jharkhand, he has served as Divisional Forest Officer - bothin the Territorial and Social Forestry wings, Deputy Conservator of Forests(Planning) in the Development wing, and Deputy Conservator of Forests in theProject Coordination Unit of Jharkhand Participatory Forest Management Projectof the State Forest Department. He has served in the Department of Industries,Mines & Geology, Government of Jharkhand as Director (Mines) & SpecialSecretary to the Government prior to joining HFRI, Shimla.
Sh. Negi has keen interests in reading books, mountaineering, trekking andtravelling.
