ARCADIA MAIN LIBRARY Staff Picks and Recommendations!

The DVDs highlighted this month celebrate girl power! Take a look at the

fantastic selection of movies that celebrate women of power and distinction. From great authors,

comediennes, queens, princesses, heroines, and even the bad girls of the

silver screen.

Meet Our Staff! This month we highlight Cheryl Hough, BPL Children’s Services and Sarah Grimm, Arcadia Main Library.

Cheryl Hough, Bienville Parish Library

Children’s Services Librarian says, “Children are my passion! I try to encourage the children of the importance of reading. Leaders are readers.

Reading and learning really are the golden tickets to getting around the globe.” Cheryl enjoys DVD documentaries and works of non-fiction. “The

more that you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you’ll go!” - Dr. Seuss

Sarah Grimm, Arcadia Main Library says,

“I read a lot of downloaded eBooks, but I also enjoy

the works of C.S. Lewis, and Lewis Carroll.” Sarah’s selections visit the fantasy classics. Many of her

selections come from the Teen section of the library.

Sarah encourages readers to take a look at some of her recommendations and perhaps find a new world

to discover! She also enjoys Flipster, online

magazine service. “You don’t have to wait to look through the current issues of your favorite magazines.”
