• Some software written with Delphi 5– 9 years old, so no updates– fewer components supporting this old version
• Moving to Delphi 2009– seen as step on the route to 64-bit software– 64-bit required for the new data and even some of
today's data combinations– characters change from 8-bit to 16-bit Unicode– chance of some strange errors in the beta versions!
