Yajnya is the science of purification of theatmosphere through the agency of FIRE. Thisscience is as old as creation. There are vari-ous types of Yajnyas for fulfillment of variousobjectives.

Basic YAJNYA is AGNIHOTRA tuned to thebiorhythm of sunrise/sunset. A small fire isprepared in a copper pyramid of fixed size.Dried pieces of cowdung, clarified butterfrom cow’s milk and a few grains of unbro-ken, raw rice are the materials used in thisprocess of offering to the fire.

In all ancient civilizations of the world,cowdung i.e. dung from male or femaleprogeny of a cow, was considered as animportant medicinal substance for treatmentof various human diseases. Ancient sciencedescribes sunrise thus:“At sunrise the many fires, electricities, ethersand more subtle energies emanating fromthe sun extend all the way to the Earth andproduce a flood effect at those coordinateswhere the sun is said to rise. It is awesome.The flood enlivens and purifies everything inits path, destroying what is impure in itswake. This torrent of life sustaining energiescauses all life to rejoice. At sunrise that musiccan be heard. The morning Agnihotra Mantrais the essence of that music. It is the quintes-sential sound of that flood. At sunset theflood recedes.”

The offerings to fire are done with the accom-paniment of Mantras.

What is Mantra? Definition of Mantra: Thereare vibrations that exist everywhere. It is onlyvibrations when you go into it. Where thereis vibration there is also sound. When we dothese Mantras, the sounds we utter activatethese special vibrations that will create cer-tain atmosphere of effects. Then the desiredresults are realized. These vibrations exist foreverything, so anything can be activated,controlled or changed by Mantras.

When one with a pure mind utters the Man-tra into the Agnihotra pyramid at Agnihotratime, the ash retains that energy and thehealing properties of the ash become morepowerful.

Summary of Somayag

HOMAS are prescribed with different sets ofMantras.

Then there are special HOMAS for gettingrains, for getting a male child or a femalechild. This forms part of biogenetics.Bigger Yajnyas (HOMAS) like SOMAYAG,AGNISHTOMA, JYOTISHTOMA are done forpurification of the environment, reducingthe burden on the mind, making mind fullof LOVE.

In such Yajnyas chanting of Mantras andofferings to fire goes on for several days. InSomayag there is one process where first allthe surrounding area is charged with Mantrasand their vibrational effects. Then cow’s milkand goat’s milk are obtained while chantingcertain Mantras. These two are then mixedwhile chanting certain Mantras. Then simulta-neously Mantras from SAMAVEDA and otherVedas are uttered. This energizes the wholearea. When the mixture of these two milksand ghee (clarified butter) are offered to thefire a flame shoots up, up to ten meters highand the effect goes up to the biosphere.

By using this supertechnology we can eradi-cate pollution factors on a large scale.

The dust has finally settled in Maheshwar Go-Shala following the 2009 Somayag. It was avery intense, elevating and power-packedexperience for all who attended. That muchLight was given to all who made the journeyto be present at the Maha Yajyna is quitecertain. That much Light was also given toMaheshwar Go-Shala through the presence ofeach and everyone present is also certain.The Somayag Committee would like to thankeach and every person who came, and con-tributed their unique presence, energy, love,light, their humanity, their songs and willing-ness to take part in this Universal HealingEvent. We especially want to thank you forthe financial support which made it all pos-sible. For that we are ever grateful. Yourpresence made the event memorable just asmuch as the Pandits who gave their heartsand souls to invoke the healing energieswhich were powerful and palpable through-out. Your daily Agnihotra Fires gave nourish-ment, bliss and joy to the whole planet.

Following are some glimpses of the 2009Soma Yajyna at Maheshwar Go-Shala.

For several months prior to the Soma Yag,we were engaged in general preparations forthe Soma Yag, which included repainting allbuildings inside and outside, extendingpublic toilet and bathroom facilities, up-grading accommodation units and land-scaped areas, reassembling the temporarytent accommodation on the roof, and rein-stalling the electrical system.

Under Shree’s direction, we also undertooktwo new projects: we proceeded with thebuilding of the new kitchen, which includes adining area, seed-storage facility, laundry,underground cellar for stockpiling food andother supplies, and we also constructed aself-contained accommodation unit whichwill be multi-purpose and also suitable forten families or more for our permanent staffand families..

INTRODUCTION

SADGURU means PERFECT MASTER.PARAMA SADGURU means highest amongthe PERFECT MASTERS. Before a great DivineIncarnation graces our planet by manifesta-tion the parents are informed by some instru-ment of Divine Will. Similarly, at the time ofbirth, intimation is given. Again, at a laterdate, the same thing is announced.

Four years prior to the birth of ParamaSadguru Shri Gajanan Maharaj of Akkalkot,India, a great Yogi informed the mother that"she would give birth to the Light of theworld". The "Son of Man was born four yearslater". Similar intimations were given at thetime of birth. The same thing was also an-nounced at a later date.

On Christmas day, 25th December 1941, theallotted task of the Son of Man was revealedby the Will of the Almighty Father. He wasfurther informed that the time for unfold-

The mother of the Son of Man was a greatYogini. Yogini is feminine for Yogi. The fatherwas a great Nada Brahma Yogi. Nada Brahmameans the "Word that was in the beginning,which was with God, which was God and bywhich everything was made that was made"

Along with Creation, Almighty Father gavethe first revelation, i.e. the Vedas. All incarna-tions, all Divine Messengers come to reiteratethe message of the Fivefold Path giventhrough the first revelation. The Messengerslay stress on certain aspects of the messagein view of the conditions in which they mani-fest.

Parama Sadguru has stated that Self Realiza-tion, Liberation, comes only through totalsurrender to the Almighty. All spiritual prac-tice should lead us to this goal. Surrenderimplies an egoless state. The highest attain-ment of human existence is, "Not my will butThy will be done". This is the end of all Yoga.

Parama Sadguru once said, "Whatever Al-mighty has willed to be done through ourinstrument shall be done. Our whole life istotally dedicated to Him. He who revealed tous our allotted task shall grant us the neces-

sary strength to fulfill it.

"It is not for us to advise people to follow anyparticular individual.

"If it is the will of the Almighty to convey tothe world any message through us He will doso. We are merely his slaves.

"We are not votaries of any religious denomi-nation. Whether it is the Bible or the Quranor the doctrines of Hindus we will convey themessage with equal yearning.

"We have asked people not to call us GURU.Many have imposed Guruhood on us. Manyhave experienced super-human powers withus. Many have witnessed miracles. We aremere witness of, not the doers of thesethings.

"We surrendered totally to the Almighty andHe started utilizing our body as Hisinstrument.Each one has to tread his path ofSelf-realization."

Eternal Principles of Religion were given tous along with Creation through the FirstRevelation, Vedas. Whenever there are large-scale transgressions, either due to sins ofomission, i.e. non-performance of ordainedduties, or sins of commission, i.e. wrongperformance, terrific resultant Karma takes

place. To set right the cosmic cycle, specialDivine Incarnations, Divine Messengers, graceour planet by manifestations in human garb.This is beyond intellectual reason but can beexperienced when intellect is transformedinto higher intuition as a result of purifica-tion. Only in a state of at-one-ment withReality as the Upanishads state, i.e. onlywhen the trinity of Knower, Known, andKnowledge is fused into one, can one experi-ence the significance of a Divine Incarnation.

"No man hath seen God at any time; the onlybegotten Son, which is in the bosom of theFather, he hath declared him."--John 1:18

Church tradition has utterly failed to graspthe significance of the above sentence. Itreiterates the message of the great VedicSeers. It underlines the process of SAMADHIdescribed in the science of Yoga and experi-enced by Yogis all over the world during themany, many milleniums that lie behind us.

Shri Krishna cautioned Arjuna not to miss thesignificance because He had taken humanform. It is Almighty's plan that the DivineIncarnations (AVATARS) manifest in humanform to set things right. The Incarnations aregraded into four as "POORNAVATAR”,"AMSHAVATAR", "KALAVATAR", and"VIKALAVATAR" and each one has a specific

alloted task to perform on the planet. Whenthe time is over, the Avatar leaves the mortalcoil. There is a Divine hierarchy which rulesover Creation. Creation embraces billions ofUniverses not yet known to science. A trueSadguru knows all about this and can grantthe experience to the deserving disciple.

Buddha is not a name. Buddha means en-lightened. Siddhartha Gautam was Buddha.Christ is not a name. Christ means anointed.Jesus was Christ.

All incarnations come to uphold the EternalPrinciples of Religion given through the FirstRevelation. The Fivefold Path is the basis ofthe message of all Divine Incarnations. TheIncarnations stress that part of the messagewhich needs emphasis in the conditions inwhich they manifest.

People quarrel in the name of religion, de-nomination and sect. This is because ofignorance and vested interest. Reality dawnsonly when you divest yourself of vestedinterest. Love and humility are the hallmarksof a true disciple of Sadguru. Such peoplehave no flair for religious dialectic. Sadguruplants the seed of knowledge within youwhen the purifactory process gains momen-tum.

No country, no people, no person can claim a

monopoly of Truth. It is the very antithesis ofTruth to embolden such a claim. Yet Truth isopen to anyone who seeks in right earnest.You have to meet Sadguru to experience theunfoldment of Truth. Time and space are nobarriers, for true Sadguru is beyond Time andSpace. You can experience it yourself. It isself evident. You do not need a mirror toprove to yourself that you exist. The powerof Sadguru is equally manifest.

In accord with the Divine plan, messengers ofGod manifest to restate the same Law. It isunrealistic to say that God gave true revela-tion only at a particular point in history whenKrishna, Buddha, Moses, Zoroaster, Jesus, orMuhammad came. Milleniums have elapsedsince Creation. Highly developed civilizationshave been wiped out of existence. Continentshave been shaped and reshaped due toupheavals. We may be accused of myopia ifwe say that true revelation started only withthe Hindus, Buddhists, Muslims, Christians, orother similar formal labels. Do we imply thatAlmighty had left Creation without a messageuntil the birth of these Divine Incarnations?None of these incarnations has ever said so.

"That which was from the beginning, whichwe have heard." (Epistle of John 1:1.)

"According to Muhammad, men were origi-nally of one religion (which he named Islamand which existed since the beginning), andwhen differences arose among them Godraised up Prophets in their midst to guidethem with Truth and people only differedamong themselves out of mere jealousy.

"This was the mother religion.

"Abraham was not a Jew nor a Christian, butHe was a Moslem." (Quran 3-67) Abrahamwas long before Prophet Muhammad. Toevery people in their own tongue was con-veyed in every age this same Divine messageof wisdom and of Truth through an endlesssuccession of Prophets and Seers.

The Son of Man, Parama Sadguru GajananMaharaj, is the current link in the chain ofDivine incarnations (Avatars). Conditionstoday present a totally different picture fromanything in known history. Time and spacehave been abridged due to technology. Speedhas become the essence of everything irre-spective of the message it carries. Technologyhas given man weapons to blow humanexistence to smithereens. Fear seeps throughall international communication. The senseof insecurity is rampant. Everybody feelsthere is nothing to fall back on. Pollution is

taking a dastardly toll of human existence. Allthinking is oscillating between Scylla andCharybdis. Everyone is lonely, though movingin a surging crowd. The void has to be filledwith vibrations of LOVE. Science has broughthumanity together. We sink or swim together.National frontiers have lesser significance.Now we need plain speaking. The messagehas to come as a package deal and not inparts. People are to be aided in getting out ofthe rut in which they have landed themselvesdue to wrong orientation.

People talk about "Love thy neighbor" butforget the other part. Jesus said, "Love thyneighbor AS THYSELF". To remind thepeople of their Divine heritage and to bringthem back on the Homeward journey, theDivine kingdom, the Son of Man has givenTEN COMMANDMENTS. "Not my will but Thywill be done" is the summum bonum ofhuman existance and therefore the "TenCommandments".

COMMANDMENT ONE: TRUTH Satyasa Navaha Sukrtamapiparan -Rgveda9:73:1

Commentary on Commandment One:Observance of truthfulness in day to daydealings is the alpha of any spiritual disci-pline. If you put ethics on one side of thescale and truthful behavior on the other, the

latter will count more. Truth does not merelymean true speech. Mind, speech and actionshould all depict transparent truthfulness.Truth is not only the means: it is also the end.Truthfulness in thought, word and deed is anaspect of TAPA, the third aspect of the Five-fold Path. A little thought will convince any-one that for truthful behavior one needs toexercise control over sense organs. Theendeavor to do this is TAPA (self-discipline),To move about without control over senseorgans is like riding a horse without holdingthe reins.

The four sins of speech are lying, slander,abuse and idle talk. To say or do anythingwhich does not correspond with what weknow to be true is lying. Exaggeration andequivocation are departures from truth.Society considers a 'black lie' reprehensiblebut a 'white lie' passes off as common sense.Spiritual discipline recognizes no categoriesin lying. To pretend what we are not is lying.To indulge in falsehood, backbiting, frivoloustalk or to use harsh language is misuse of thegift of speech.

"You shall speak no word that is false butshall speak the truth with discretion and witha loving heart."

"You shall not swear nor use abusive lan-guage nor indulge in idle or vain talk. You

shall speak with dignity and purpose. If not,observe silence."

"You shall not invent evil reports aboutothers nor shall you make carping criticism.Always look to the good side of others." --Precepts of Buddha: 4, 6, 7

From what is stated above we find that Satya(Truth) has a much wider connotation thanmerely not telling a lie. To be happy we mustattempt to eliminate all sources of distur-bance to the mind. Divergence from truthnecessarily creates complications in ourdealings and this leads to strain on the mind.We try to wriggle out of a simple situation byproffering a lie. Many complex situationsresult by such action. We are forced to erect aseries of falsehoods to maintain one lie.Inadvertently we build up to a situation inwhich we are squarely exposed. The processof erecting the series of falsehoods inevitablyleads us to the necessity of keeping up pre-tenses and appearances. All this causessevere strain on the mind and exacts a heavytoll of mind energy. We are so habituated tosuch situations that we do not even noticethe strain. Recurrence of this phenomenonenfeebles our determination to execute whatour discrimination judges as right. We beginto connive at and to rationalize the discrepan-cies in our conduct. This leads to strain onour emotions, thus putting a premium on

unhappiness. A liar needs good retentivememory while a truthful person need notcarry such a burden. One may lie to othersbut one does not wish others to lie to him.The business of lying never remains a oneway street. By wrong behaviour on our partwe encourage others to indulge in the samegame. Once we start practicing truth we arebetter able to perceive the mechanism ofemotional strain. This helps us to get rid ofbad habits.

Indulging in untruthful action vitiates theintellect. The process of transmuting intellectinto higher intuition is delayed. All spiritualdiscipline is aimed at the purification of themind and the transformation of intellect(Buddhi) into higher intuition (Prajnya), Thisimplies the curbing of the outgoing tenden-cies of the mind. By discarding truth in asingle instance we thus cause a series of actswhich are conducive to misery.

When we decide to don the armour of truth-fulness in thought, word and deed, whateverbe the consequences, we experience an innerstrength. We notice that people who comenear us are less inclined to tell lies. Lovepervades the atmosphere and harmony setsin. From the common sense point of viewalso it is less cumbersome, less disturbing topractice truth and to do away with falsehood,conventional or otherwise.

Speech is a unique gift given to man. Let usnot despoil it. Practice of truthfulness shouldresult in economy of words. If one can com-municate in silence it is better to do so.

"But let your communication be yea, yea;nay, nay; for whatsoever is more than thesecometh of evil." -Matthew 5:37

A community imbued with the spirit oftruthfulness pulsates with holy vibrations."The fragrance of a flower goes along withthe wind. Holy vibrations can travel againstthe wind."

The Upanishads state that the practice oftruth culminates into Self realization. If youwish to have material prosperity, mentalpeace and spiritual unfoldment there is asimple way. On the threshold of the tonguekeep the light of truth. Truthful speech strikesa concordant note in the heart of the listener.If you harbour untruth, fear is your constantcompanion.

Truth is comprehensive. Preaching somethingwith a view to mislead people is lying. Speak-ing publicly with relish about personal weak-nesses of others is prostitution of the gift ofspeech. Writing insinuating letters and scan-dal mongering are as bad as suppressing thetruth with a view to cheat others. In the endyou yourself are cheated and are required to

pay heavily in terms of emotional distur-bance and disharmony. You lose so much ofyour precious time in doing these things.These very moments, if spent in Self study ormeditation, could lead to happiness.

"And I say unto you, swear not at all, neitherby heaven; for it is God's throne; nor by theearth; for it is his footstool." -Matthew 5:34, 35

"And when you speak, be just, although it be(against) one who is of kin." --Holy Quran VI-152

"Speaking (what is wrong) is adultery of thetongue. --Saying of Prophet Muhammad

"Truth alone becomes victorious and notfalsehood." -Mundak Upanishad III-1-6

Vedas make a distinction between Rta andSatya. Rta may be termed as Satya withoutthe cooperation of the mind. You say'Tasha ishurt'. You know Tasha the dog is hurt but youwish to convey to the listener that Tasha thegirl is hurt. This is not truthfulness in speech.

Most misunderstandings arise because youcannot control your tongue.

Do not show your importance in speech.

Do not use harsh words or spiteful language.Truth can be told in a palatable manner.

Do not take 'holier than thou' attitude.

Never indulge in backbiting.

The person you talk to may not be yourequal in knowledge or worldly status; yetremember he is also made in the 'Image ofthy Father'.

By describing other persons' faults you wantto show that you are superior. Get rid of thishabit.

With speech, so much mind energy is con-sumed; let us learn to conserve it.

The words Divine Path in English come fromthe Sankrit words DEVAYANA PANTH. Itmeans the Path of Light. Upanishads statethat the Path of Light by which the sagestravel is spun with Satya. Satya is the meansand also the end. By reflecting truth inthought, word and deed Liberation comes.Focus the searchlight of truth inwards. Sepa-rate the ephemeral from the eternal. This isReality. This is Self realization. This search isSelf study. Truth is the experience.

Let others see you as you truly are. Attemptto become as you wish others see you.Practice truth and then what you utter be-comes true. This does not mean that by youruttering you interfere in the law of'reap asyou sow', the law of Karma. It means that theDivine speaks through you and you becomea conscious instrument of Divine Will tospread the message of Love.

Anything spoken which is not of UNITY, Weclose Our ears.

Whosever speaks one word about discomfortbetween East and West, about cultural differ-ences underscoring misunderstanding, Weclose Our ears to it. You do the same.

Say, “I do not want to even listen to oneword, lest that one word cause me to think inany direction other than that of UNITY.”

The dark forces on the planet seek to sepa-rate and to weaken relationships whichbenefit humanity. We do not wish to associ-ate with such divisive thought forms. We areaware of their origin.

We caution all who walk the FIVEFOLD PATHto be vigilant. Insist upon it. This is the mean-ing of “PURSUE UNITY.”

Do not wait for it. Create it. Nurture it.

INSIST UPON UNITY.

1. Perform AGNIHOTRA for purification ofthe atmosphere which leads to automaticpurification of mind.

2. Practice DAAN (sharing of assets in a spiritof humility to reduce attachment to worldlypossessions).

3. Practice TAPA (becoming better managersof our energy expenditure by training thebody and mind to react to all circumstancesin life with Total Love).

4. Perform KARMA (every action for selfpurification only and thus no expectationswhich bind us to the material world).

5. Practice SWADHYAYA (Self-study) forliberation. Who am I? Why am I here? Mywork on this planet is to learn to react withtotal LOVE with each opportunity given tome.

This is the Fivefold Path for happy living onthe planet. By practicing the Fivefold Pathyou become better members of your society,group, religion, community, etc.
