On Friday, January 13, 2006, Woodlawn High School lost a dear friend and alum, Kyle Price. He was serving with the United States Marine Corps in Ramadi, Iraq. Kyle, son of John & Cheryl Hunsell of Woodlawn and Dave Price of Indianapolis, IN, was a 2004 graduate of WHS. While a student at Woodlawn High, Kyle participated in baseball, golf, Student Council, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Library Club, Spanish Club, and served as Homecoming Emcee his senior year. Also in his senior year, Kyle played the part of Vernon Waddlehopin the drama class play. He was a part of the School Publications class, where he wrote for the school newsletter and helped produce the school yearbook. In addition, Kyles classmates voted him Teachers Petand Most WHS Spiritduring his senior year. Kyle was not just and integral part of our school, but also of our community. He was a member of Woodlawn Christian Church, Heartland Young Marines and Boy Scout Troop 102, where he earned the prestigious rank of Eagle Scout. Kyle is dearly missed by those who knew him. His attitude about life was so genuine...happy and always willing to help. His life touched so many throughout our small town whether it was helping with a church project, umpiring a youth baseball game, teaching a younger scout how to tie a knot, or raising money for a worthy cause, Kyle was there. And he was there at the end defending our country and his fellow Marines. May we all seek comfort in knowing the Kyle loved the Lord, his family and his country.
